Jacolby George deserves a game ball

No you muppet I’m talking on CiS.

Richt would’ve said it about any team or player in the ACC because it’s his job.

If that was Horton there would not have been multiple threads about why it should’ve been a flag and why he shouldn’t have done it.

It definitely wasn't flaggable, was a great effort. But you cannot tell me you didn't have at least a tiny bit of anxiety for a moment there. I am super happy for JG. But I was screaming at the TV "don't do it" lol.
Only thing I’ve seen from George this year really was the pointing thing he did a couple weeks ago

I’ve got no problem with it but the refs across the league seem to be letting a lot of trash talk go but the pointing thing in a clowning way has been getting flagged for taunting (because the guy was on the ground)

Especially on a TD you don’t want to risk it

But that’s me purely speaking from the POV of a ref that feels like getting involved in a game for whatever reason

@JamesQuall

You bring up posters picking on JG as if we wouldn’t have the same criticisms if that play was made by Horton.

That’s true. I wouldn’t be as critical. I wouldn’t be as critical because Horton doesn’t have a long history of collecting 15 yard penalties in bad times. Nobody is just picking on the dude without precedent. I’m worried that “extra effort” costs us a game in the playoffs when X was clearly going to score anyways. This is a thoughtful take.

This is indeed a thoughtful take.

Agree to disagree and let’s move on.

I was fully expecting the flag to fly out, people on here have the inability to understand that two things can be true at the same time. He’s improved his effort and play, but he still does some things that make you hold your breath and wince.
His attempt to block the guy was totally unnecessary. In no way was he catching Restrepo.
I believe one of the coaches pulled him to the side afterwards

His hustle and effort have jumped off the screen all season to me. The blocking has been there every game. He's not running behind the play or in front of it, he's sprinting all out to be where he needs to be. He's making tough catches on money plays and it's pretty clear that he's grown a lot when it comes to not making boneheaded decisions, as well

I think he's picked his game up to a level where you hope a player can when you take a chance on someone. The growth should be appreciated. There were at least a thousand posts on here about wanting him gone or pointing out how he ****ed up

He has come out as the quintessential teammate so far; hopefully, he continues that trend. I'm sure his mettle will be tested soon enough and we'll get to see if he's really changed his stripes. I have no doubt that winning has helped his mindset
I am one of those doubters here. His previous immaturity drove me nuts. 🥜 I will be the first to say he is a huge asset now. His blocking is so much fun to watch!!!

With all this man coverage we are getting we should target him more. He’s dynamic after the catch, all our wrs are but his acceleration looks different

Went back and watched the game again. Made some big catches, one on a tough 3rd down slant when we were coming back. Most impressive was his blocking. Believe it was the same drive where X had a catch and tough run. JG locked up with a DB, drove him about 15 yards and then drove him into the ground. Dude had more pancakes in this game than those Manny OLs a few years ago.
He needs to be more involved in the vertical game. No more screens, just let him loose

i don't see a hold ... i can see if some want to complain about the second block ... but still a helluva effort ... in regards to drops ... the all time leading receiver in miami history had ATLEAST 2 drops yesterday, it happens, but the effort is there ... this group has shown it's not a consistent issue
I’m curious where this “hold “ that should have been called took place. I see a guy hustling downfield and blocking two defenders to help his teammate.
