Again, I will attempt to be clear, and I'll even copy-paste directly from your link.

There will be NEW benefits (things that have to be agreed upon in the settlement) added to EXISTING benefits (scholarships). And the NCAA can adjust its scholarship benefits whenever they want, this part would NOT need to be approved in the legal settlement. Thus the NCAA can begin some of the "increased benefits (new & existing)" even before the lawsuit is settled.

  • The new benefits that may be made available to student-athletes would be in addition to the myriad benefits currently provided to student-athletes, including free tuition, room & board, educational grants, academic support and tutoring, medical and mental health resources & support, nutrition resources & support, life skills development, superior coaching and training and extended medical coverage after they stop competing. Adding these existing benefits together with the benefits to be available under the new model, many A5 schools would be providing nearly 50 percent of athletics revenue to their student-athletes.

"Lastly, scholarship limits will be eliminated in all sports, and roster limits will be established. Institutions have the discretion to offer partial or full scholarships provided they do not exceed the roster limits. This change will allow institutions to provide additional scholarships to student-athletes in the future."

This back & forth was only about scholarships..

some of yall don’t know what nepotism is. Nepotism is when the decision maker hires friends and family. Luke nickel the high school senior doesn’t make the decision.

Offering the brother could be part of the negotiation to get Luke he or even some more leverage to keep him here.

Yes that is nepotism. But this thread isn’t about Lou it’s about Nickel

On the Lou note, who cares. Every coach commanding $6m a year can do this. You can act holier than thou but if you ran a huge organization you would assign your nephew to a menial position unimportant positions he is barely qualified for. Lou i’d say is qualified enough to be a third stringer just like the huge number of 3rd stinger jags we have that you can’t name.

Now what richt did with the qb coach being his son was much different because that’s not a menial position and his son was not even close to qualified.

Hardly played at UAB. 117 snaps as a RS Soph, strictly a run blocker like most have said, and just decent given the comp.

Big step up in comp now, only played 1 snap against Arkansas. But with 105 on the roster, it’s better than a walk-on.

Posted mediocre to poor run blocking grades against Tulane (49.8), Navy (55.9), USF (60.9).

Good grade against Army (73.3) but only 6 run blocking snaps, and Memphis (63.7). He never recorded double digit run blocking attempts in a game after Week 2.

Good frame though at 6’4’’ 260.

Will be TE #4 or 5…And bridge to the young beasts. Depth who may/may not see a few snaps in blocking sets if he's a better option than Carver.

Sounds like a good move to me. He was a special teamer these last two seasons. Don't expect anything crazy but it's a good move as a safety option. Personally I do think one of Schott/Gilbert can be counted on to play most/all TE3 snaps for us at least by ACC play.
