The timing of this reclassification couldn’t be any worse. We just took 6 DB’s
Let’s break this statement down to what it really means.
1. We have already spent our defensive back NIL budget on the 6 guys we brought in, and /or
2. We just brought in a big class so this isn’t the ideal time to look for early playing time.

3. Miami wasn't a driver in him reclassing early or they would've planned to have room for him.

Their will be room after the Spring portal. Enrolling in May. This is the one recruitment I am focused on right now. I think he will be the best DB in the class, if we get him. He would certainly start as a return man on this team. No excuses! Time to start this NW feeder back with him. Several on deck.

There is room now , when do you have to cut down the numbers and didn’t they just up it ?

So question is signing day (feb) just completely pointless now? Like is the kid just going to enroll and not commit anywhere? I dont think I recall many recruitments going beyond Feb for that year's class.

National decision day is May 1st, which is high school seniors who applied and were accepted into colleges must confirm their enrollment with the school of their choice. I would assume he makes his decision before that, but it is still possible I believe to make a decision after that

Has he been reranked in the 2025 class? Presuming he'd still be a four star, Top 247 type talent.

If so, he'd be the 17th blue chip in the class. That's 17/22 = 77%

We didn't finish top 10, missed on some highly valued targets (Hanks and Pickett), and flips hurt like Stubbs and, more so for me, Gavin Nix.

BUT we've never had a blue chip percentage that high. I think we'll look back at this class in three years and it'll be littered with multi-year starters.

If a player is good enough there are rarely any limitations. So let’s assume Flowers is so good that everyone will wait for him. The same cannot be said for 99% of high school players who need to lock in their scholarship and spot and better sign on national signing day.

But let’s not act like this is a first. Ray Lewis basically ended up at UM just before classes started in the Fall (and still started as a freshman!).
