Ivan McCartney

He was probably checking out USF, AG does not deal with team cancers, which imac was at wvu. UM is stacked at WR, and I am.thinking he just came with the rest of mirmar team that was at the game.

Go Canes

UM is stacked at WR???

It could be in 2013, easily. Let's stop pretending McDonald can't develop and can't get the best out of players.

I agree, this WR corps has the potential to be great. Currently, we have some nice young pieces that are still trying to mature. Their stats are below

P. Dorsett 54 rec 759 yards 4 td
R. Scott 35 rec 512 yards 3 td
A. Hurns 27 rec 307 yards 4 td
C. Walford 21 rec 352 yards 3 td
H. Waters 9 rec 162 yards 1 td

We lack that #1 threat but we have nice depth. Depends what happens with Scott but I dont see McCartney being any better than most of our guys anyway.

I concur, and I didn't mention Malcolm Lewis , Angelo Jean-Louis, or Robert Lockhart.

A guy that quit his school and has been talking about quitting for a couple years now? No thanks.

Those types of transfers almost never pan out.

To be fair

He just couldn't make the grade and didnt want to go to MILITARY PREPATORY SCHOOL in the middle of nowhere for a year

I can't blame the kid. He never was in love with WVU......his corch at Miramar pushed him there.

I'd take him.

Me too.

I think it's unfair to label him a failure at WVU. Do you all realize he caught 49 balls last year?

Dude has been stuck behind Stedman Bailey and Austin. Quite possibly best WR duo in the country.

I saw him at UM's spring game at Hialeah Ted Hendrick field this past August. He was hanging out with Malcolm Lewis and Tracy Howard. Dude has great size too.

If he wants to work, then bring him in and he'll be our best receiver.

If he wants to do the same things he did at WVU, then get lost and kick rocks.

I don't mind bringing in talented malcontents from other schools but their problems have to be isolated to those schools. Sticks' motivation issues are well documented but if he wants to be a Cane and get his stuff together before the draft then we could get really lucky.

Saw Ivan McCartney at the game today. He left West Virginia last week. Any chance he transfers to Miami? I remember that was the rumor a while back.

I'd imagine that ship has sailed for him, but who knows. Unless he can get a waiver from the NCAA over some 'family hardship'. He'd have to sit out a year, and, if Golden can continue recruiting well, i'm not sure we'd need him come 2014, especially if we'll be down some scholarships.

He would be able to play next season. Ncaa just tweaked their transfer rule. If you transfer for family reasons, you have to go to a school within 100 miles of your home. UM fits the bill.

i'd take him...

Kid can play...instantly would be in our wide receiver rotation...likely a starter...

shake the leaves...especially since his boy Ryan Williams along with Malcolm and Tracy are on the team.....

a wr class of Sticks and AJL looks REAL good....especially if we can bring in Coley...If Scott is gone he would be needed.

Who else played for Miramar that year that we can get off the wire? Ryan Williams, now Sticks.

If our players get the same "opportunity' to leave like the PSU players did, we may have no choice.

Whomever said Ivan is a cancer is clueless. He is a good kid. Already tried to come to UM last summer. Good luck to him.
