It's getting real

What QB do you think we get?

Sitkowski. Richt loves him

What's your opinion on him? His junior year was very unimpressive and that's putting it lightly. I've heard his former team was completely lacking talent, so it will be interesting to see what his production looks like with a loaded roster at IMG.

All I can really say is from seeing him without pads at IMG the kid has an amazing skill set. All the intangibles are there & he seems to be able to process what's being thrown at him relatively quickly. One way or the other well see this year. If he wanted an excuse he came to the wrong place.

Very true about excuses. You make a great point about his skillset. I've seen him make some really great throws both in highlights and in camp videos, so I'm at a loss as to what happened with all the picks. Knowing what he's capable of, I wouldn't be surprised if he put it all together and had an amazing year at IMG. Really hoping so since he has high potential and seems to be our guy.

Good point. Thanks.

Just watched Sitkowski's Jr. hudl highlights: Artur Sitkowski - Hudl

I can't speak to his production, or lack thereof, but just from that video there's a lot I like about his mechanics:

- Very tall in the pocket. He looks every bit of 6'4
- Has a great base when he throws, even on the run. He tends to hop around a bit in his stance, which I don't care for, but that can be corrected.
- Has a quick, compact release with very little wasted motion
- Shows good arm strength on outs, slants, and comebacks
- Varies his release points well - throws low on some of those quick passes (esp near the endzone) and has a nice high release on deep routes and fades
- Leaves the pocket with proper technique - this is an underrated skill, but from the video at least, he has been taught how to "bail out" correctly and continue to look downfield
- Runs decisively when he chooses to do so, and knows when to get down and when to get out of bounds

Just from his film he reminds me a bit of a poor-man's Matthew Stafford. Not as big or strong as Stafford, but similar mechanics, IMO.

No disrespect but I truly hope arthur isn't our guy.

IMO the 2018 class QB isn't as important as the 2019 QB...This year we will have at least 3-4 legit guys battling for the starter position.

Whomever wins that will be starting for at least 3 years. The 2019 QB will most likely be the next starter after this years guy.

I'd have to agree with you. I didn't put that into perspective thanks.

I've seen Art plenty of times... and the kid looks the part but its extremly difficult to judge base on his team that threw maybe 7 times a game if they were lucky. No wideouts to throw to also.. Every Throw was a thread the need type due to lack of ablity to get open or separate. And another 80% of the time Art had to tuck and go...becuase protection broke down. bad situation..

I will say this - he is Tough as nails... and if he wasn't a Qb - he'd be a hellava TE..

Would really like that cat committed to California - Adrian Martinez - but thats probably impossible.

The Mixon Kid is a stud and would like him before Artie S

But I'd take a combo of Mixon and Artie S... and ride.

Sitkowksi regressed from his sophomore to junior seasons and he's completed about 51% of his passes up to this point. That's a red flag to me. The offense he ran in NJ didn't help, but his regression and inaccuracy looks bad. He has weapons and a better offense at IMG so let's see what he does this year.

By comparison, Cade Weldon and Brad Kaaya were in the mid 60s, and N'Kosi Perry was at 59% for his 4 years.

Seriously... If you saw what he had to work with... I'm surprised it was even that good.

What is it with WR's and RB's? They always seem to be "The" Drama Queens

Honest question on Sitkowski. It seems like with Perry and the offensive play-calling, Richt is moving towards dual-threat guys. Is Sitkowski mobile?

In the days of only 85 scholarships every one is important. The QB we take this year is just as important as the one (or two) next year....
