It’s never over till it’s over…

Question.... Why do we always have to be the only school that gets "secret" visits? Are we that ugly girl that no one wants to be seen with?
I’m with you but I think this is how Mario chooses to operate

IIRC he did this a lot at Oregon I remember a lot of “wow” recruiting moments for them because of that

I could be misremembering though

Pure speculation but him and Ruiz gotta be like oil and water 😂 (not that they don’t get along just how different they seem)

I'm not hopeful, but never say die.

I think he loves that Ruiz takes up all the negative attention and he just gets to operate relentlessly in silence like a sniper.

Yeah speculating on my part but I think they have one of those complimentary relationships so when I said oil and water I’m like eh not meaning they don’t get along

Could be a good thing

I mean.... Are you REEEAAALLLYY that interested in a school if you let leaks about your "secret" visit change your mind on anything?
It’s a fair question but somehow, against all logic, it seems to matter

People on this site like to make everything an all or nothing issue. Its more about gaining every advantage you can whether large or small. Flying under the radar with certain prospects ("secret visits") can have benefit in multiple ways. Maybe the kid is private, maybe they are just sick of talking to reporters and it makes for a more comfortable time, maybe it builds trust, maybe it helps other schools from finding out and negative recruiting against you or upping their own bag until its too late etc etc etc.

Is it the make or break reason someone chooses us, **** no. Can it have some small benefit in a recruitment... Sure, with certain prospects it might. And if thats the case, why wouldn't a good recruiter try to use it to their advantage?

It’s early. Still have half a year left and a whole season. Never counting out guys until that LOI is signed.

You're right, it does seem to matter and I hate that it always seems to matter with us the most lol

*edit: well to be honest, I only really follow us when it comes to recruiting so it's a little unfair for me to say that last part.
