Is this the best Recruiting job in college football?

Not quite but **** of close the past few weeks with the portal guys, Dunson, K Smith, and Williams is a real nice way to close out 2020..would’ve been nice to get another olineman but most of the quality ones were already picked over..

This class is a coup. To pull up this many blue chip guys following a garbage season is near miraculous. I get that it still has to come to get on the field but from a strictly recruiting standpoint, it’s very impressive

This staff finished 6-7 including losses to Duke,FIU and LA Tech and closed with Harrell, Knighton,Dunson,Smith and Williams on top of Landing the best QB and DE transfers available. After all that happened the Canes finished with a 12th/13th Ranked Class.
I would've PROBABLY AGREED if the staff would've added more to the OLine.. We can get the best playmakers in the world, BUT IF the OLine performs like it did in 2019, Manny will be firing another OC..

Do I have this right...

1. Talk all off-season about expectations and winning.
2. Coach the team to a losing season in the Coastal, with some embarrassing losses along the way.
3. Land the No. 13 recruiting class in the 2020 composite rankings.
4. Point to the losing season as a reason the class wasn't even better.
5. Have the work done by the coaches lauded by UM fans as one of the best in college football, in large part because of the poor record on the field.

This is a good class (a couple of holes, but good overall and with quality recruits), and it is historically right about where I expect UM to be ranked. I'm also thrilled to have King, Roche, and Borregales as GTs. But I refuse to give extra credit points to the coaches' recruiting because of the coaches' poor on-field product.

For some historical context, Randy had the No. 1 class in 2008 after winning 5 games in 2007. Golden had the No. 10 class in 2012 after 6 wins in 2011. Each in their second season at UM. Reflect on that for a moment.

Its very good class but still left some holes and some guys are question marks.

If we are going to play fast attacking offense, that will mitigate some OL deficiencies. I suspect if RL is as good as we hope/expect we will play better with the talent on the OL currently, and in time see us competing at the end of seasons as we bring more talented OL.

OLine Coach is gone though. Once we hired Justice there were not really anyone left. I think Rivers is a day 1 starter for us. Washington has a chance to be a starter after two years of development and weight training or so. I think we will grab one in the portal.

We finished one spot behind Oklahoma and two behind Oregon.

Those teams had all the momentum in the world. Oklahoma is coming off back to back final four appearances and has two of the last three Heisman winners. Oregon sits alone as kings of a dumpster fire PAC 12 and had free reign over the entire west coast.

We had our worst regular season in 40 years and still pulled a very, very talented, 13th ranked class then culminated it by stealing perhaps the top safety in the country from our most hated rival on signing day, humiliating them in the process.

If you aren't taking just a minute off from moping or protecting your feelings to gloat and enjoy the **** out of today, I got nothing for you man.

Lol considering how our season went this class including transfers is better then anything I could of imagined. We could of easily had a 40th-50th ranked class after that finish

Al Golden pulled a top 10 class after going 6-6. Stop actin like Manny did something unprecedented. It’s a good class but there are still questions. Could it have been worse of course. The staff deserves their props
