Is this a tale of irony?

IMO the turds are making us look good. I absolutely hate them, but when they win, we win. They have the opportunity to do two things for us, 1) being knock out UGA, LSU, and maybe a possible SEC team, getting them out of our way 2) is making us look better because we beat them. So if OREGON ends up unbeaten and we take care of business we could jump them probably. If we sucked and didn't play them I would want them to loose every game they play but the circumstances are different

^^ Truly, few things are more satisfying, more rewarding than watching the turds work like galley slaves in the BCS rankings now that we've beaten them again, shackled to the computer formulas that while working for them, work for us more. After they're finished doing our bidding for us, they can just die in the dungeon below, rotting for the rats to gnaw away.

UF is probably the best team in the SEC east from what I've seen. Even without Easley that defense just dominates teams.

From what I've seen so far Miami is better than Georgia and South Carolina. Don't understand why they are ranked in front of us with a loss still. They are playing close games against bad teams in addition to the loss. The polls are very much what have you done for me lately.

SEC is down a lil this year.

I think we beat UGAy and south carolina.

I don't think we need Florida to jump Ohio St or Louisville assuming all are undefeated at the end. If we win the ACC, it means we had to beat a top 5, maybe top 10 FSU and Clemson as well as a possibly 2-3 loss VT whose only loss right now is Alabama. Even with Florida as a top 10 school, I don't know if we would jump Oregon or any SEC school. SEC and Oregon are balls deep in the media. If we are relying on jumping people to get in, I am just as happy to watch Florida lose all season.

Seriously, do you guys know who started this whole rooting for your opponents crap? SEC with their little chant. When did everyone become SEC wannabes? If you want to root for someone who is not really a factor to us, then fine, but I will not root for a rival I can't stand.

I was at a party this weekend and there were a bunch of simpleton Gator and FSU fans there... I was the only Cane of course

They were talking about how they hoped Miami loses every game, especially the FSU fans. I had to educate them on SOS and how you want Miami to win every game and be as highly ranked as possible just like we want you guys to do the same. I then turned to the Gator fans and said the same goes for you guys because # 1 it doesn't make your loss to us look as bad the higher ranked we are and helps with your SOS

FSU simpletons just couldn't understand this, so I said ok you want us to lose?? Fine then good luck going to the NC game because even if your undefeated whos the only meaningful team you beat?? Clemson and that's not enough when you have UGA or a 1 loss Alabama, LSU or an undefeated Ohio State.... trust me they would take an undefeated Urban Meyer coached OSU vs a 1 loss SEC in the NC game in a heartbeat over FSU.......the FSU fans faces said it all when I told them that they realized oh ****!... your right

That is just how it goes buddy. Strength of schedule goes of of not only who you beat, but who you opponent beat. That is why an undefeated Boise State never makes a championship game. It may suck to keep seeing the gators win but if they lost every game after us, our win is no longer legit. ****... I would love to see every ACC team loose EVERY game but it would leave us right where Boise is. I will not root for other teams but I do want them to make us look good. The SEC has figured that out. "If they beat everyone else, and we beat them we are better than everyone else". Thats why the SECCG is always a play in to the ship.

Really no sense in griping about this. If we beat FSU, we're a top 10 team and will jump some teams.

Use your heads. I want every team that we play to win as many games as they can. IUiF losing more games makes them look weaker and then we will all complain that a signature win is crap cause they sucked. How great is it to say that we may have ruined any chance they have at a NC with that win. That holds more weight to me then them losing and it be just a lose to them. It burns all the UF fans I know so much when I point to that 1 ugly mark in their lose column.

If UiF, VT and FSU stay ranked it's huge for us. The ducks and Stanford play a schedule with ranked teams all over it so will be hard to jump either if they go undefeated. Taint plays a garbage schedule and haven't been winning impressively, with FSU being top 5 (if they beat Clemson in Death Valley were UGA lost) and UiF winning out except FSU it could help us jump them. Giving LSU and UGA their second lose would put them out of the NC talk and us ahead of them in the rankings. Would also mean Bama would have a lost (sec champ game) would make their wins look less impressive. Hope VT and FSU run table outside of us. Beating top 15 teams is better then those guys being unranked. More teams we beat that are ranked when we played them and where they finish goes along way.

Its very simple. Miami grew up as an independent so the older fans, and most younger, dont identify with any conference. After all, we did it without them and we've been in two conferences within the last 20 years. If we had been in the ACC from the 1930's, we all would have a conference mentality because it is of utmost important to win your conference. We got in the big bowls by being a very good team people could not ignore, same for PSU back in the day. But in the conferences, you could not go to the Cotton Bowl (SWC), Orange Bowl (Big 8), or the Sugar (SEC) unless you won your conference. If your conference was good, you could sneak into a big bowl game by having a strong conference and having the reputation of traveling well. That mentality has been ingrained in the old guard, SEC, Big 10, old Big Eight, whatever for decades.

What is important now, is that we recognize that we must find a way to the conference championship game first, hopefully the conference isn't full of retards that lose to DivII (orwhatevertheycallthemselvesthesedays), win the conference title game, and hopefully that punches our ticket to, at worst, the OB, and next year and beyond worth a top 4 tourney bid.

Whether we like our rivals or not, its in our best interest that anyone on our schedule win as much as possible. And we need a strong conference regardless of schedule.

Because of this SEC bias, I'm almost expecting UF to jump us if they beat LSU.

As far as I can remember there has been pre-season rankings and its just the way it is....
We sucked last year and the voters aren't ready to put us ahead of some 1 loss teams, don't really see a problem with that right now.

I don't see a problem with that as well. I'm good with where we are at now. The team still has a lot to prove. Other than FSU, we SHOULDN'T lose any of the upcoming games IMO. I do think we lose to one division opponent though.

I do. Preseason rankings are fine, but voters need to be willing to shuffle teams around based on actual results this season as the weeks unfold. Voters get stuck thinking "I can't drop this team because they didn't lose." At this point we have better wins than several 1 loss teams ahead of us and on top of that they have a loss and we don't. The SEC bias is getting out of control.

and let's get on that road by convincingly beating the Tar Heels on Thursday - CONVINCINGLY, DECISIVLY, BEYOND A SHADOW OF A DOUBT, WITHOUT HESITATION. No late heroics, no lucky calls, etc. From 0:00 first Q to 00:00 fourth Q. Please bore me to death during this game.

this

Yes, I'm worried that if UF starts beating these SEC teams UF will benefit but not us.

This is what I'm expecting. Look at the Georgia situation. When people talk about Clemson, they talk about how georgia is overrated and barely beat Tennessee. When they talk about Georgia in relation to other SEC teams, they talk about how Georgia survived a tough game against an SEC opponent, or LSU lost to a tough Georgia team. LSU barely beat TCU who got just got beat by Oklahoma. Why is LSU still ahead with 1 loss?

If us and Clemson are undefeated at acccg, winner plays for ship.

Well, Dabo is already looking for a soft spot on the mat for the FSU game. NO WAY they show up for it. Just like last year, except Clemson's defense is worse.

We will play FSU in the ACC CG.
