Interesting Stat: Canes were 7-1 when scoring over 30 points

And for all of you slamming me keep this in mind, in 2009 FSU had the 108th ranked defense in CFB. In 2010 FSU's defense jumped to 42nd. In 2011 they jumped to 4th.

In 2009 they were young as **** just like Miami is now. As they grew up they got better. It's not rocket science...

Same type of results with Golden at UVA, difference is FSU gets better athletes than UVA. I expect us to be somewhere in the middle of those two progressions (i.e. top 60 then top 30). We have the athletes to match FSU but D-line is still too big of a question for us, where FSU has two of the best ends in the country.

Miami won't have to score over 30 next year much to win games. This defense is going to grow up big over this next offseason. I'm expecting a top 20 defense next with the talent we have but even a top 50 defense will give Miami 3 more wins with this offense.

Move this post to the WEZ

But this stat is pretty much what I would expect...If you score 4 touchdowns a game you're more than likely going to win.

I think Miami can easily duplicate what FSU did. I actually think Coach D is a better DC than Stoops is. Those DE's weren't the best in the country in 2010. Regardless this young defense is going to be leaps and bounds better than what they were this year. I know top 20 is unrealistic but somewhere between top 50-35 sounds about right.

Have to also keep in mind that the offense and special teams will be better as well. Better offense, defense, and special teams is going to show us glimpses of what the future holds. We should win all the games we're expected to win and probably have an upset here and there along the way. I know **** well we're going to give FSU all they can handle next season. They have to break in a new QB while implementing a new DC. Coach D has had Jimbo's number both games he coordinated against them.

As the players grow and improve, the defense will get much better. Ed Reed as a freshman wasn't as good as Ed Reed as a junior or senior. Same with all our true greats.

I doubt we have such an uptempo pace next year. Golden has said that it was only done because we were going to need to outscore people with such a young defense.

2011 is more what Golden wants to looks like imo.

Just give me top 50 and we will win the ACC. Our offense will be that good next year.
