The 2012 Canes were 7-1 when they scored 30 or more points (and 0-4 when they were under 30). The only loss (in the 7-1 record) was at UVA on a last minute TD drive... If Clements, Crawford and Dillard are able to help Duke in the running game and if no one leaves (e.g., Seantrel), our offense will be downright scary in 2013. :neonu:

doubt that stat is really interesting at all. most teams are going to have a high winning % when scoring over 30

I guess its good that we scored over 30 8 times.

Offense will be nasty next year, Lu. I expect Morris to have a monster year the way he developed toward the end of the season. He was as hot as anyone in the country the last 3 or 4 games. I think we add Collins to Duke with Crawford running some wildcraw. We'll have all our receivers back healthy. Hopefully add Enter Sandland to the mix too. It'll be a lot of fun next year.

Miami won't have to score over 30 next year much to win games. This defense is going to grow up big over this next offseason. I'm expecting a top 20 defense next with the talent we have but even a top 50 defense will give Miami 3 more wins with this offense.

I think the more interesting stat is that we are 3 of the 4 losses where we failed to score 30+ were against legitimate teams. Funny how of the razzle and dazzle offense failed in the big game against the big opponents. The offense and its stats are nothing but smoke and mirrors.

and to think what would have been the 2012 season if it weren't for Jedd and our offense ....YIKES

Yeah, you heard me right. All of those 22 True Sophomores and Freshmen that made up the 2 deep on defense are returning. I know you guys like to blame Coach D and his scheme but the truth is the problem was youth. Miami is going to have a nasty defense real soon. Best LB'er core we will have had in many years. Best secondary we will have had in many years. The D-line was the weakest link but that's because they had True Sophomores and Freshmen in the trenches. That's a recipe for disaster. You can't expect youngsters to step in the trenches and dominant upperclassmen.

Like I said, I expect a top 20 defense but even a top 50 defense gives Miami 3 more wins next year with the offense and special teams we'll have.

Lmao off at you... Yeah, the whole defense returns and will be year older, stronger, and more developed but they'll just continue to suck. Our fans are clueless.

If Collins re-commits, I think our running game will be on point... What I really want is for our defense to step up (I know I'm preaching to the choir about the defense). I don't care what people say, but we NEED players like Eddie Johnson and Finnie for depth reasons alone. We cannot afford to lose Porter either...

And for all of you slamming me keep this in mind, in 2009 FSU had the 108th ranked defense in CFB. In 2010 FSU's defense jumped to 42nd. In 2011 they jumped to 4th.

In 2009 they were young as **** just like Miami is now. As they grew up they got better. It's not rocket science...

they scored to fast

That's true. However, the defense's job is to get off field... We had a lot of youth in our 2-deep last year. Hopefully another year under our 'U-Tough' program and Coach D's system will help create more 3-and-outs.

What's interesting is that the Canes scored over 30 eight times this year.
