Interesting Calvin Ashley Note

Not to derail the thread, but I find it odd that SEC teams like Auburn can have down seasons leading to uncertainty in their coaching staff and still not be effected in recruiting at all.

This is two fold. 1. The SEC propaganda that if you play in the SEC you are guaranteed success and that its a whole different league of football quality. 2. If you think places like Auburn, Ole Miss, and Bama are playing by the rules you are naive to say the least.

Separate issue I would love to know is how do these kids that come from notoriously bad areas find the money to go on all these unofficial visits? I see sofla kids going on like 10 visits in the summer. And no not all of them are on high school team funded trips. And even if there hs/7on7 coach is paying for the trips wouldn't that be considered against NCAA rules as extra benefits. I think that is the biggest difference from now and even 5-10 yrs ago. Back then these sofla guys basically took there 5 officials and visited mia, fsu, and fl and thats it. Now they somehow have the resources to visit USC, Oregon, ND, OSU, Bama, Clemson, etc all within one summer.

THATS WHERE GUYS LIKE CRISTOBAL CAME INTO PLAY WITH THE "FUNDING"...and the lame at FSU .."BREWSTER"...

These kids dont come out the pocket at all.......

Teams dont even have BOOSTER CLUB..yet their hitting the road on the sec circuit??

Here is a link to older article exposing how some of these Unofficial Visits are paid for indirectly by Colleges through the high school coaches.

AU offense is predicated on qb. Their qb was pretty bad last year minus a game or two. They are breaking in another new one this year it looks. Interesting!! 6-6 and yes he parts more than likely. AU will show malzahn the door @ 6-6.

Hey AU has garbage season he may be ours but who knows with the dirty SEC money he owed or has been paid lol

Miami can write off 2017 OT Calvin Ashley coming to UM and getting by UM's admissions since he has now transferred to St. John's College High School in Washington DC; which would be his 4 school in 4 years (Dr. Phillips->IMG ->Dr. Phillips->First Academy->St. Johns College HS).

Good luck to the young man, but you have wonder who is giving him guidance with all these transfers considering some places he didn't even spend an school entire year (IMG and First Academy).

Who is up next on the 2017 Oline recruiting board?

That is a pretty darn good private school.
It's actually a military Catholic school, so his grades must be in pretty good shape.
They play in the same conference as DeMatha, Good Counsel,etc....Very good football conference.

Seen a post on another site from a UF fan said he was rumored to be going to JUCO. TIFWIW

He's not faithful to one school...So we should see this as motivation that he will flip from auburn.

I didnt know he took it out to begin with...

You don't know anything about his grades or his situation in life, Parrotnose. So quit judging and looking down on him. Pretty sad when a dude living in his mom's basement in New Jersey is looking down on HS kid.

That schedule is tough, to think they have nothing but a 50/50 chance of breaking even at 6/6 is about right..

Just b/c he's been to 4 schools in 4 years doesn't mean crap. Stop being an idiot.
