Incredible stat on Miami’s offense

The only thing more impressive than that stat is our ability to consistently convert 3rd and long situations.

In some ways, it actually worries me because it feels like Cam drifts too far on some early downs. Perhaps with the idea that, no matter what, they have a good shot at conversion on 3rd and long. And, sure enough, it’s worked out a lot. FSU did have some athletes that made his scramble game less effective.

When teams play us the way FSU did, I’d love see Cam occasionally hit that back foot and climb forward to get 6-8 yards himself.

He’s extremely slick and savvy in the open field.

We’ve seen how elite our 3rd conversion rates are so far.. But yeah, i want to see how elite it looks at just 3rd and longs and third down pass attempts.- because so many of these third down conversions have indeed been third and long (several of more than 3rd and 15).

This statistic can't be highlighted enough.

Several of us mentioned how critical to this season (any season) improving this stat is.

Now, what I'd like to see next is a breakdown of what percentage of first series drives were sustained beyone first four downs because of a defensive penalty vs Hurricanes offensive gain.
The second one would be less of an indicator because teams usually still have the potential to pick up the first down with an offensive gain even if they are granted the first down by defensive penalty. Pass interference on first down, second down, or third down? Are they all the same? Personal foul on defense on 3rd and 1 is a first down that likely would have been picked up anyway.

When are we going to get the run game going?

LMAO. If we widen our splits and stop running between the guards we could go from #2/3 to #1 in the country.

This is an insane statistic. You add this to our over 60% 3rd and 4th down offense and this is why we win. It’s also demoralizing AF

Miami is an offensive juggernaut this season and the advanced metrics start to demonstrate this as well.

The scary part is that we could still be a good bit better lmao
If the air raid is successfully paired with the personnel to run the inside duo game effectively, this could be more sustainable than folks realize too. An air raid offense that can stay ahead of the chains like a caveman is a dangerous thing.

Man I'm too old to see and understand that mularkey.

Kidding (or am I?). I had to blow it up and actually read it, but it appears as though that graphic shows pretty undeniably that our running game is super solid.
