In The Event Nobody Took Notice

One example of the biggest difference between this year and last is we were trotting out Corey King and Earl Moore, as Freshmen, to use whatever strength/power they could muster in order to hold the line in this scheme. One year later, with presumed increases in strength/power and experience, they don't even play very much.

CoacH D had no excuses last year. He could of fielded a top 10 D if he didnt give receivers 10 yards of cushion

Lol now everyone wants to act like they never criticized coach D.

I did and I was wrong. Whenever I talked about coach D I always started off my arguments with the FACT that we had a top 25 D in 2011. In 2012 I said "yeah we were young but that's NO excuse for a MIAMI defense to ever look like that." I also said I'd wait until 2013 was completely over to judge Coach D. I will stand to that and there will likely be a thread from me talking about the great jump in defense we've made. I was his biggest hater here. One thing I will say is that I recognized he coached up guys at Temple like Wilkerson and the other first rounder. When other Coach D hater's like myself had a post. I'd only talk facts about his Temple career and folks would still say "Well this ain't Temple, this is Miami".

I'm glad I was wrong but don't act like I never recognized Coach D's career at the same **** time.

Don't blame you I was in on some of that bashing as watching our D last year was just a miserable experience.

Glad to see the improvements made coach D is doing a great job so far this season

Better enjoy this bus ride, and worry about 2014 later. (Dim assuming we have big line and QB losses. Granted, the QB loss is mythical at present).#

WINNING in 2013 will help 2014 better than anything else.

I don't think we will lose juniors left and right like before. The kids that are here now are not like the ones who left. Plus they saw what has happened to all of them. I think these kids will trust the staff more than that greasy agent talk. I worry about DP leaving but he may want to stay to increase his value. These kids are enjoying the results of the hard work Al told them would come. We can replace the seniors; Al has made sure of that.

Well, I think that´s the way to shut us doubters up. Well done Coach D!

The problem with those who criticized D last year, was that they refused to understand that the defense was doomed from the start.

We had an incredibly young team...playing a complicated defensive scheme...that they were ill equipped to execute physically...and playing against some of the stiffest competition in the country. That's a recipe for disaster and that's exactly what happened. The coaches were willing to take a step back to take a step forward. More power to them for braving the storm to make us a better team going forward and we are most certainly benefitting from the experience that guys gained last year in the defense.
