The future looks very bright and Al hasn't even got us outta 2nd gear yet.

The 2-deep depth chart shows eight (8) true frosh. Yep, amazing! Eight! As young as we were last year, its hard to realize we're still relatively young.

To those recruits who want early PT, take notice .... if you got the goods, you'll play. Just come and PROVE YOURSELF. (The days of 'entitlement' are over. Al G doesn't care how many stars ya got on your resume, show us d' money!

Maybe this should also be on the Recruiting Board, as well.

There's not 8 true freshmen on the 2 deep
There are seven; eight if you count Coley on kick/punt returns.

Sorry, my bad. Counted Coley twice as he appeared under "WR" and "Slot". Still, same-same.
And don't forget Grace, commin' on strong, but not yet in 2-deep.

I count 6 true freshmen on the depth chart (not the two deep) and most of them have been used very sparingly so far. I agree, the future is bright and this team can only get better and better because of how young the team is.

that's still a lot of true freshmen pushing for playing time

There was around 22 true Sophomores or younger on the two deep on defense alone last season. This team is very young. The talent is still being upgraded at every position. The roster is nowhere near a finished product yet. Golden is building a monster.

While the current roster is no masterpiece, we've got depth and experience where it counts (the trenches).

As it stands now, FSU is the only team we'll play with a roster as loaded as ours.

One example of the biggest difference between this year and last is we were trotting out Corey King and Earl Moore, as Freshmen, to use whatever strength/power they could muster in order to hold the line in this scheme. One year later, with presumed increases in strength/power and experience, they don't even play very much.

Thanks Randy...

Key is they are pushing at spots that are more suitable for younger guys to make an impact. Sometimes freshmen pushing is just a nod to how well we have been recruiting and not an issue with the depth chart. Would any team in the country be RSing Quan, Coley? I don't think so, and no not even Bama would have Quan on the bench.

Better enjoy this bus ride, and worry about 2014 later. (Dim assuming we have big line and QB losses. Granted, the QB loss is mythical at present).#

WINNING in 2013 will help 2014 better than anything else.

What is even more impressive is there are 20 soph or less in that 2 deep. Which says we are still pretty young. I am impressed with the looks of this roster. Has lots of talent and even getting younger guys looks.
