Pete,
What are you hearing about how badly the NCAA investigation is affecting recruiting right now?
And what are our recruiters telling the kids?

From the recruits I talk to, they are more concerned about bowl bans, not necessarily the scholarship reductions. The reductions could help in some cases for the playing time pitch, but most are worried about the possibility of not being able to play in a bowl.

Somebody that I've heard is very worried about this is Sony. The good news with his situation is I highly doubt the NCAA takes more than 2 bowls away, so he shouldn't have to miss any bowls.

As far as what other schools are saying, they are negative recruiting, which shouldn't be a surprise to anybody. I'm sure this staff has negative recruited at some point as well. It is just part of recruiting.
 
other schools will say we gon get raped.

our coaches will say we skate.

doesn't take any inside info to figure that out.
 
It's a big concern with Alex Collins too.

Winning 6 games this year is so **** important. That would get a HUGE monkey off our back.

Absolutely HAVE TO win 4 of these 6 games: NC St, Duke, UVA, UNC, USF, VT

Bowl bans? Seriously?? I mean, worst case we get 2 bowl bans, and we've already served one.

I'd think they'd be worried about us losing a ton of schollies and sucking for the next 4 years.

Sony, being a 2014 guy, should not be worried about effin bowl bans.

None of the recruits that I've talked to are worried whatsoever about the scholarship losses. They look at things in a much different perspective than we do.
 
They're teenagers. Think back to when you (most of you) were 15 or 16. You're probably a whole lot wiser and have a much different perspective on everything, including things like recruiting.

5 of those 6. BCC doesnt count towards our bowl win/loss total because they are a fcs school.

Do you ever explain to them that we've already served one bowl band and that even if we got a second bowl ban it wouldn't affect them?

USC got 2 years and they didn't self-impose a ban. The NCAA has no limits technically, but the general consensus is that we won't get more than two especially since there was a self-imposed

I wish they were just deliver the punishment, so we can move on. The fact that they punished PSU so quickly is utter BS.
 
Agree. We're already serving sanctions because the sanctions haven't been served. And the last word I heard was Herbstreit telling Rose that he thought it would be at least another 6 monts before we heard anything. Total BS.
