Just wanted to put my recruiting picks out there and see how they finish in a few weeks. I have no inside info but I think it's interesting to see the split between the "follow the visits" crowd and the "trust the insiders" crowd. I myself lean more towards the follow the visits (which includes their twitter mentions etc). Would love to hear others best guesses and compare the results in a few weeks.
Briggs: kind of feels like the B. Edwards recruitment from last cycle. Highly coveted by our staff, would see playing time early and has been made a priority but in the end he is going to ignore these positives and wind up in Tallahassee (like Edwards did UF). He should have canceled the FSU visit if he wanted to be a cane. Stop playing with FSU.
Ezzard: The Georgia pipeline is real! He has posted lots of stuff about Miami, and he has a great relationship with current recruits. Judging by the visits he has lined up and his social media I'm saying Cane. Miami
Chatman: finishes the UNC visit and immediately posts a cane edit. I love that. Other teams having three weeks to negatively recruit the fact we only gave him a committable offer 3 weeks before signing day.. I don't like that. But I think his love for the canes, the chance at early playing time and that Georgia pipeline help us close him. Miami
Nesta: all that talk about him helping close the other AH kids but I haven't seen much of it. The UF visit this weekend is clearly not what someone 100% committed would do, he didn't sign early, and other recruits weren't sure he would sign. I do think that he's just that alpha personality though and is feeling himself. Knows he can do what he wants but will sign with the canes. Miami
Gerald: we sent the assistant d-line coach, Louisville and others have sent the entire staff. I think it's great that we have playing time to offer, but this kid is mature and ready to play almost any where. I think he goes else where, somewhere that's made him a top priority. (UF)
Chatfield: that chad thomas edit game me CHILLS. This kid is going to be a cane. We shouldn't have waited as long as we did. But I think he's made to rep the home team. Miami
Campbell: I was convinced he was UG's on twitter for a long time. The only thing that connected him to Miami was second hand info that always seemed unsure of the situation. Not worth getting into how bad a miss it is. Georgia is the pick.
Surtain: I'm following the visits and Miami leads the pack. He had no reason to have waited and not commit to LSU. But Miami became that reason. I think we ride the wave and land him. Miami.
Bethel: I think he wants to be a Cane, (seems obvious) but I think he ends up at UCF. He's a priority their and a special teams player here.
