I'm for real done with this...

If any of you guys come visit for the Clemson game here’s where we will go. It’s a random Irish bar and I was dumbfounded when I saw the list/prices

Got my tickets after the A&M loss (I’m a degenerate). There are a lot of good bourbons on that list. That pappy 15 takes the cake though. The 20 and 23 are really good too, but for the price the 15 is the best bang for your buck out of the pappys. Haven’t had stagg in a while, might have to try that one out too. With that said, 1st pappy 15 on you? Lol

Yeah we are about an hour away from Clemson. A lot of people go to Greenville, it’s a nice city, but you’ll pay triple the prices when you go there for the same stuff

But **** yeah man I’m down. Not kidding haha

Appreciate you, man. It's our differences that make us unique, haha. Based on the above, seems you might like a little more of that smokey flavor in your bourbon than I do (and if that's what you like, the ****els is a great value). Have you tried Longbranch? It's another Wild Turkey product and about as smokey as I enjoy neat, but another great choice for an old fashioned.

4 Roses has some solid offerings, toom
Never had the Longbranch. I’m gonna have to look it up and give it a try.

A few years back (like 2013) I was managing a liquor store while finishing up school. Blantons would just sit on the shelf. We’d have cases of weller @ $15 a bottle and it would just sit there.

That job was the best. I got to try pretty much every bourbon while I was there, including every year of pappy.
Pappy?!

I got a bottle of the 15 year last fall for $220 from a store owner who held it for me. Been looking for it for years. Haven't opened it yet though but I've heard the same thing you've said about it. I've had the 12 and 10 year and like them both. Still have 2 bottles of the 12 year unopened because I've gotten 4 of those in a row.

I've also been lucky to get a bottle of George T Stagg every year the last 4 years as well for $200 or less. It's probably my favorite of all the bottles I've been able to bring home and have over and over again.

But I've been looking for the William Larue Weller because it's the best wheated out there but haven't been able to find it for a reasonable price. Hopefully this Fall I'll get lucky.

Been a Whiskey and Bourbon guy for many years. I grew tired of Cognac after heavily indulging 80-90's. What I find is that when blind judging even with my level and years of drinking experience, I can't discern expensive vs. lower and mid price ranges. I put some Canadian Mist in a Woodford bottle. My "boogie" frat bros had no idea and talked about how good it was. Just saying.
💯! Heaven Hill released store pick bourbon a few years back and they had 3 barrels to choose by taste with the age on top of the barrels. Of course everyone picked the oldest. The following year they did it "blindly". They put out 3 barrels with no age and let the store owners pick which barrel they wanted bottled for their store. Every single one of them picked the youngest. I'd love to see a blind bourbon taste test.....especially with Pappy.

My parents are building a house in Greenville and I wish it would be ready for the game. I might drive back after the game, but I have a room in Greenville if I end up getting too drunk (happy or mad). I’m up in Clover, SC so I’m not too far away.

Yeah I’m not going to the game tbh. I’ve been through this enough haha

**** that 15 is a steal at $220 (considering the prices of lesser bourbons lately), that owner must like you. I used to like the Stagg, but I haven’t seen it for a while. When are we drinking that 15?

That’s amazing. Definitely gotta know people to get in like that

I had some WLW once. Some absurdly rich friend of a friend had a bourbon collection he had to get rid of. He paid a bourbon specialist to stock his basement for him (didn’t even know this was a thing until then)

Then he had to get rid of it all. Long story short I managed to get some basically for one night but I’ve only ever seen it for like $2000-3000 a bottle

😂 I think there’s still a few out there that’ll trick you but the higher ends even if they taste like **** are typically more complex. The cheaper ones can be real good and smooth but hold less flavors and finish. Like a bud light It’s great to have daily but not much to it. And trust me I don’t drink a lot of high end bourbons often. My daily drinkers are $30 bottles

It’s beautiful

$130 for SR? Had to be a big bottle yeah? SR is one of my favorites it’s just so tough for me to get
No it was the regular bottle. They had the antique for $185 and then a Weller - red or blue bottle???? - for $600

Holy ****

Antique is the red one

Blue is either full proof or 12 year. Either way that’s pure insanity even online you get those for $400 or less

I got some 12 year online for like $275
