but we dont if we redid that Saturday. it wasn't a fluke is what im saying. they out coached out hustled and outplayed us. coaches and players were thoroughly embarrassed. I know Mario isnt going anywhere and hes gotta work out after that contract.I don’t care what MTSU did or didn’t do before or after that. That means nothing to me. College football games stand on their own two feet. If we play MTSU 10 times on random Saturday’s throughout the year, we probably win 9 easily. That day was their day. It can’t happen if you’re Mario and the staff, but it did. Not much you can really do now except learn from it (hopefully) and continue to get better. He’s not going anywhere, so there really isn’t much else to discuss. Hopefully he sees the writing on the wall and jettisons Gattis in the off-season, but I guess we’ll see.
regarding that last part, I already saw what Mario thinks. when your coach after passing for 500 yards to keep you in a game and preventing a blow out loss comes out and talks about running schemes and going away from it bc Tyler got "hot". yeah it tells me **** never embrace what the roster as it is now does best. we see it with the RZ play calling and how Jekyll and Hyde the play calling can be. hes gonna have to take more MTSU losses on his resume here to finally make the change imo. again, this isnt saying we should never run which posters will take from this. its how we run the ball, what formations we do it out of, and when we do based on the defensive front. we need to be able to run the ball, but this roster cannot run the ball the way Mario wants it done. we have to get creative there and start running out of more spread looks vs what we've been doing (this includes in the RZ). well see what happens.
