This is next level weird.

You need a full team breakdown because your leg is hurt? You're also asking for medical advice from a football message board? Are you about to ask for money in a couple posts?

Where are you located? One of the biggest issues with spinal issues is getting an accurate diagnosis. I've fractured 3 vertebrae in the neck and 3 in the mid back. At one point 20 years ago 2 specialists recommended a spinal fusion for the mid back. Then I visited Dr. Jon Hyde, Miami Beach Spinal Clinic. After a cat scan and discussion he got me into a physical therapy program at Doctors Hospital in Coral Gables. No spinal fusion ... approaching my 78th birthday (tomorrow) ... and playing golf once a week. Best of luck with a) a proper diagnosis and b). a treatment program.

Happy birthday! And that's the smartest thing to do. My mom had 2 different doctors do unnecessary fusion a.

Not a doctor but I have back and leg issues too. Get shooting pain down my leg, sometimes my back or my butt goes numb, "pins and needles." If they are looking at your L4/5, doctors may think problem may be spinal stenosis. Narrowing of the spinal canal. It pinches the nerve, resulting in sciatica and other problems. It may also be degenerative arthritis. Arthritis causes swelling, swollen tissue presses on the bone and the nerves. They will first start with physical therapy (didn't help me), then epidural injections (not fun to get a needle in the spine). If that doesn't work, they will move on to RF ablation and basically try to burn the nerve so it stops communicating. Then the more invasive options if RF doesn't work- laminectomy (they remove a top layer of the bone to relieve pressure) or spinal fusion. Another approach for pain management is the doctors will insert a small device into your back that you can control with a remote and turn on so it sends electrical pulses and can override the nerve pain signals. I think I would try that before a spinal fusion or laminectomy.

Wasn't going to respond. But dam ok man. Do my post have to be bubble wrap for you. Does a team break down include the whole roster. Im asking about a for a few key players that may, or may not have left. Reason why I was asking was because my health has caused me to not be able to live one here like I did before.

I Had really bad sciatica going down my right leg. It go to the point I was waking up screaming in pain and when I would drive I had to get out of the car every 30 min the extend my leg because the pain was so bad. I finally went to a doctor who did a new procedure (15 years ago) called a Micro-Discectomy. it's where instead of cutting through the muscles of the back to get to the spine they stick a small rod in-between all the muscles to get to the disc that is herniated. They then use a water pic to shave the disc that is sticking out and touching the nerve.

Well since that surgery I've never had a back and scistis issue again. The surgery is out patient which means you get to go home the same day.

Good luck. Now If I could just get my knee fixed correctly I could go back to surfing.

That's who I saw ,Dr. Hyde... Dude told me straight out that I didn't need surgery... Wasn't expecting that... Usually I expect to put a down payment on a Doctor's new Porsche.... Thankfully he was a good dude....

Use a hammer..... I'm kidding... Lol

You know that's not true!
Well, I'll give you credit for self-awareness.

I'll also say that back pain suffers really don't get great advice from the bulk of the medical community, so soliciting suggestions from a message board that might have people familiar with sports medicine isn't necessarily crazy.
