Streeter.

Vernon would fill a void and obviously he is talented but Streeter would have blown up this year iMO. Another year under McDonald and with a QB that can throw the deep ball, Streeter could have been a monster.

I think its the coaching as much as anything though. McDonald is the #1 guy on the staff to me and such a ridiculously talented kid like Streeter could have really taken a leap.

Not to mention we have some nice underneath receivers to open up space for him.

Well Vernon would definitely be of most need this season considering our scary looking depth on the D-Line. If I had some imaginary vote though, i'd go with Lamar Miller. The guy was a special talent. Please go back and watch the Virginia Tech game from last season. Without Miller, we're not even close in that game. He was a gamechanger and a very solid player here for his 2 seasons.

I think all the Miller is soft and wore down at the end of the season talk is overblown. How many of you guys would be calling him soft if he had returned? lol We all wanted him back and he would've most likely had a monster season. Vernon was good here but I'd go with Miller's talent.

Solid argument. I wish we could've enjoyed another season of Streeter here. I too believe he would've been uncoverable.

Streeter and it's not even close, not remotely, not one iota.

Having an extra body DE or DT would be helpful, but a tall, rangy, battle-tested WR would completely change the defensive schemes we would be facing. Good luck bringing that safety into the box to stop the run while leaving your corner on an island with a 6'5" 4.4 guy. That's something we're going to sorely lack (the deep threat) until somebody emerges.
See, I almost said the same thing. I hovered my cursor for a long time next to Streeter's name in the poll. Not saying Streeter isn't a beast and wouldn't have helped us this year, I just don't think the cupboard is completely bare at WR/TE.

However--one thing I'm hoping is true is all of the reviews we've heard about Robert Lockhart making circus catches over top of DB's from the Summer and on into Fall Camp...not just from reporters blowing a play out of proportion, but from many of the players in their interviews, talking about his ability to go up and get the ball. And Lockhart's only 6'1. Not only that, but Rashawn Scott and Allen Hurns go 6'2 and 6'3 respectively. Granted, that's not 6'5 or 6'6, but they're big WR's, and will be taller than most of the CB's on them.

Also--our shortest TE listed on the roster is Walford at 6'4, and even he has a really good vertical. Reviews on David Perry have been good coming into this season...and he's 6'7. I'd like to see some passes thrown his way in the redzone, specifically.

Its Vernon and it really shouldn't be close. He's at the biggest position of need and has biggest potential upside.

Streeter. He had the potential to blow up and Vernon was underwhelming and took plays off. I'd feel a lot better about this offense if we had Streeter.

Vernon 2nd.

Streeter and his sloppy routes, butter finger hands wouldn't have helped us much if he were to come back, he definitely could have helped his stock in the draft by returning and possibly changing though, now we're (my Ravens) on the verge of cutting him

Streeter. He produced unlike Vernon. Who knows what we would have gotten from Vernob

None. If they don't want to stay don't let the door hit ya. Don't need people who don't want to be here, here.

You...you need to think better.

/Is this an appropriate way of calling him an idiot without actually calling him an idiot?

The lack of respect to Lamar in this thread is unbelievable to me. Does anyone forget how bad mike James was last year and how many big runs Lamar broke in games last season?

And ppl arguing that it is clearly Vernon.

You are talking about a player that had 5.5 sacks against division 1 competition in his career at Miami. And at times had no interest in being here.

The only choice thats acceptable besides LM is Streeter because he you can argue it is at a position of much greater need. We dont have one proven skill position guy on our entire offense so my choice is to bring back our best player from last season.

It makes no sense. These fools are crazy. We're fairly loaded at WR and Vernon was mediocre at best at UM.
Lamar would have put up 1200 yards +

Vernon was underwhelming, but I'm projecting based on talent, and another year of conditioning/coaching.

I think our offense is going to be better than people think.

The defense needs all the help it can get.

A bigger, stronger, motivated Vernon could've been a game-changer on defense.

I cant see Vernon making that kind of difference. He was just a bust here. I am honestly stunned at this poll

Lamar I can easily see winning us a game or 2.

Lamar broke off some huge runs, but wasn't consistent at all. He was awful in short-yardage, and really faded as the season went on.

Plus, I think a healthy Mike James coupled with Duke Johnson will give us a dynamic backfield.

Vernon had a legit first step and a great frame. He was just wasted, IMO. Plus considering we're counting on converted LBs and true freshmen to hold down the DE spots, Vernon would've fit in nicely. He's not a big loss, but he could've been a big addition.

Yeah too tough to tell with Vernon because he lost his chance last year. He never impressed me but who knows? Thing with Streeter is he seemed to really make some big strides, even though he still had a ton of room to grow.

I guess part of it is I'm just glad Vernon is off the team.
