I HAVE NO DOUBT

There would be no investigation. It would have gone something like this:

ncaa president mark emmert called auburn #uh-em* MIAMI allegations "a newspaper story" at his annual Final Four press conference in Atlanta on Thursday.

"We haven't done anything with that case because we don't know anything about it," emmert said.

Selena Roberts (charles robinson) alleges that auburn (MIAMI) committed multiple NCAA violations in an article released on the website 'Roopstigo.com' (yahoo sports) on Wednesday.

Roberts (robinson's) report is centered around former Auburn player Mike McNeil (former MIAMI booster nevin shapiro), who was dismissed from the school after he was charged with armed robbery in the spring of 2011. (who was sentenced to 20 years in prison for orchestrating a $930 million ponzi scheme) McNeil alleges that there were numerous instances of grade changes, impermissible benefits, and recruiting violations within the football program. (shapiro alleges that he provided thousands of impermissible benefits to at least 72 athletes from 2002 through 2010.)

The ncaa conducted a 13 month investigation into the Auburn (MIAMI) athletic program, from September 2010 until October 2011.

The ncaa found no wrongdoing.

We'd clean up the recruiting trail with ease, and our budget would somehow quadruple.

You people are delusional, UM could not afford the arms race of the sec and we would be a mid major like Vandy. Remember UM is a small private school where would the massive amounts of money come from. Even in UM's hay day the atheletic dept reveneue was not off the charts hence the move to the ACC, which caused the football team their dominance becuase the overall competition level increasesd.

Yes UM will be dominant again but to say we couod run a gauntlet like the sec every year no chance now winning 3 or 4 huge games a year UM can handle that no problem. Hence why UM turned down the chance to play LSU in the 2014 season opener where we would have a new QB and New oline.

But again when the scheduling is managed well UM can be very successful.

Go Canes

Our football would meet against Alabama in the SEC Championship game about every year... Our new-found success in basketball would never be though.

You missed his point. If every recruit says they love UM from the east to west how dominate would we be at getting them if we where in the SEC. I would have to agree with him forget the money and the scheduling. The only thing UF and other schools have over us when recruiting these kids is that they play in the SEC.
Now as for the scheduling and money. We decided not to play LSU for other reasons besides that, but if we where in the SEC and getting those top recruits wouldn't be an issue about a new QB. As for the money SEC just got a huge contract from ESPN and they are also a sharing conference. Money and recruiting would be completely different if we where in the sec.

Exactly my point.

What's new about all of this is that the SEC as a conference has now become a recruiting dynamic. In other words the top three quarters of the conference can compete with any other non SEC school and have a story to tell. We lost the juco dt last year to Mississippi for example. A lot of kids want to play in the SEC. The ACC is moving in the right direction but we need to firm up ND as a full member and in my opinion put a full court press on Penn State.

I think the original post is speaking purely from the perspective of recruiting, and in that specific scenario, I think Miami absolutely cleans up on the recruiting trail. ****, Miami doesn't do too shabby right now..and that's playing in the putridity that is the ACC...

Now, from a financial perspective, you are dead on. Logistically and culturally, there's no sustainability...continuity. Thus, no 80,000 crowds and subsequent payday. I do, however, believe that Miami could most definately pull off a gig similar to Texas and ND with our own network (our TV draw ratings substantiate this notion..[salivates at the idea of telling the compelling stories of past and current Canes...NFL HOF'ers as well as the up and comers..how we're working with and giving back to the "local S. FL community"- Local High schools *wink wink*]..think 3 Penny Films on crack!!!) while maintaining membership within a conference like the SEC. The Television draw, in a way, would replace what we lack in your post above.

Of course the SEC would never admit Miami because they would instantly lose a large portion of their recruiting pie as it pertains to Florida recuiting- specifically S FL recruiting. That "come play in the SEC" sales pitch is quashed. Then the ugly truth of lining the pockets of these kids and their families becomes that much more patent and the magifying glass then becomes a microscope, revealing the cellular structure of the virus that causes the "I grew up a Miami fan...but I'm going to (insert SEC school here________________)" disease.

It is what it is.....

We would have another Dynasty in that conference no lie!

The U brand isn't close to Vanderbilt's level. That kinda hurt man. We are a nationally known school with insane amount of fans everywhere. To be honest we probably in the top 5 for fan bases. I travel around the country a lot in the military. I'm telling you no matter where I go I meet fans of Miami. The same can't be said for other schools. Most people are just fans of the school that's close (for obvious reasons). I tell you what I don't see. I've never met a SEC fan up north. **** I've never seen people that are actually die hard fans of Alabama anywhere except the deep south. Bama fans aren't everywhere even though they are a big time school. Usually people bangwagon. I haven't seen that with SEC schools. But I GURANTEE when Miami get's back up top the bandwagon fans will come. The "fans" who weren't fans during the struggle.

A firm’s logo should imply something about their employees and culture.

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) November 04, 2011
With the recent controversy over the new University of Maryland Terrapins football helmet and the college football season in full swing, Bop Design, a design agency with offices in San Diego and New Jersey, has released their list of the top 5 college football logo designs. The list of top logos does not focus just on the logo itself but also on its implementation on the helmet, uniform, merchandise, etc. Bop Design Creative Director, Kara Jensen, comments, “It’s important that a college logo is versatile enough so it can be re-purposed on promotional items such as polo shirts, pens, field of play, etc. If the logo is too complex or ‘busy,’ it cannot be used in different situations. This is the problem with the current University of Maryland football helmet. The helmet is busy and distracting but most importantly, it cannot be easily utilized in other applications.”
Bop Design reminds businesses that the same lessons learned from college logo designs can be applied to the design of all marketing collateral – fromwebsite design to brochure design to print advertising design.
Here is the list of Bop Design’s top 5 college football logo designs and lessons that can apply to small business marketing
#5 Michigan State Spartans
The Spartan logo design is a clean rendition of the Spartan mask headgear. The disciplined design could have easily been overdone with too much detail or clutter. Instead, the design is simple but memorable. Jensen adds, “The Michigan State logo gives off the feeling of intimidation and seriousness with sharp lines and angles – which is perfect for a college football team.” The logo has staying power and classic styling – it’s been consistent since 1983. “It definitely holds its own again the classic collegiate ‘M’ of their intrastate rival.” Bop Design remarks that a clean logo is always advisable for any business. Jensen comments, “As a business, a logo is most effective when it is simple and clean. It conveys a message or idea about a company but does not go overboard. With all marketing collateral, less is more.”
#4 Miami Hurricanes
Many teams use a school’s initials for their logo, but the University of Miami Hurricanes logo design is unique with a dual tone one-letter icon. It acts more like a symbol than a letter. The logo has been so impactful that many people refer to the school simply as “The U” in reference to the logo itself. The logo design is clean, contemporary and will never go out of style. Jensen adds, “The Miami logo captures the ‘style’ of the South Florida region and it’s understated – they could have overdone this and made it UM.” This logo design has staying power – it was redesigned in 1972 but still looks contemporary. Bop Design cites company logos such as the Starbucks and McDonalds logo as two examples similar to the Miami Hurricanes. “Just like the Starbucks siren or the golden arches, all you have to do is see the ‘U’ and you know it’s Miami.”
#3 Clemson Tigers
The Clemson Tigers logo design displays a rich texture and a fun personality. The logo is a bold color palette and as the Clemson website claims, “Clemson University ‘owns’ the color orange.” The orange used in logo and branding is actually called “Clemson Orange”. Jensen comments, “The logo is versatile and the paw makes a mark. The school does not need the literal tiger or mascot like other universities.” The design is balanced, showcasing a nice size ratio. The school also has fun with the logo application – Clemson typically uses the logo as the “o” in Clemson. The school redesigned the logo in 1976 as a dramatic upgrade from the previous “tiger” logo that was entirely too intricate. Citing the Clemson Tigers logo, Bop Design reminds small businesses that they do not need to “connect all the dots” in a logo. Jensen adds, “Many businesses want a logo to convey their entire process or product. That is not the point of a logo. It is to entice and convey a general idea about a brand. Clemson could have easily remained with the tiger mascot as their logo but then there would be no mystery or intrigue.”
#2 Michigan Wolverines
The University of Michigan Wolverines logo design showcases the classic collegiate styling with the strong “M” icon. The bold, bright maize and blue colors allow the logo to be seen from afar and make a dramatic impact. Jensen adds, “The Michigan logo design is versatile, clean and balanced with a logo that will never change. People see the ‘M’ and they immediately know it stands for ‘Big Blue’.” Bop Design remarks that going simple, traditional and big can convey boldness. “Michigan is simply content with a big yellow ‘M’. This showcases confidence and bravado. The same idea can be applied to small business marketing. A firm having a simple bright logo design implies they are secure and not overcompensating for something.”
#1 Texas Longhorns
The Texas Longhorns logo symbolizes the strength of the football team and truly stands for the entire Texas geographic region. Jensen comments, “The horns are iconic and even translate well to the ‘hook’em horns’ slogan and hand signal. It’s versatile with just the right amount of detail.” The logo was originally designed in 1950 and has never changed. With Austin being a design-centric town, the Texas Longhorns logo definitely conveys the strong design talent in this college town. Bop Design reminds small businesses that a logo acts as a brand reflection and should express a company’s internal culture. Jensen adds, “No logo is more effective in conveying a local culture than the Longhorns logo in conveying the ethos and region of Texas. The same should apply to business – a firm’s logo should imply something about their employees and culture.”

If we were in the SEC AND the NCAA decided to give us the same protection they give those schools, we could do pretty much whatever we wanted AND would rarely lose a kid in our backyard. Period.

Which is exactly why SEC schools would fight like **** to keep us out. We would be running that hick *** conference within three seasons. Katy bar the door. What we need to do is really focus on magnifying our brand...and the only way to do that is by winning. I'm telling you guys, is imperative that Golden win 10 REGULAR SEASON games this season- not that "getting to 10 wins" ****, but 10 regular season wins plus a major bowl. Also, we MUST BEAT FLORIDA. If not, we are in serious trouble. We drop UF, FSU, and a third roody ****??? then I really couldn't blame any kid for jumping ship because it would be evident that Golden isn't the coach to lead Miami back to the promised land..but I digress...

Additionally, I think we need to take the disadvantages of being "Thug U" and make it work for us again. Of course this would take some really savvy marketing and propaganda, but it can be done if executed the right way. First of all, we need to appeal to our kid's fashion and culture by constantly changing up our look from time to time...have at least 3 alternate looks/jerseys on tap in any given season (all black jerseys and helmets please? I know, I know- gimmicky as fck, but apparently the kids love that **** [rolls eyes]).

Second, we need to appeal to our kids musically. We are really dropping the ball by not taking advantage of this generation's Luther Campbell -(Rick Ross, etc..). Have him put out a track or three that focuses on High school football athletes in South Florida...and the importance of "repping your city by staying loyal and true to your city"... have Rick Ross call out specific schools and specific "numbers".

This will do two things: First- it will feed, and hopefully satisfy, the appetite of these kids' super egos to the point that they don't possess such a strong need to be stroked by other programs. Second, (and most importantly) it will create an atmosphere liken unto the whole "fck the police" phenomenom that has been so pervasive in the African-American community for years. That whole "snitches get stitches" theme- a theme that could be made analogous to recruiting- would produce, essentially, the same sentiment. "You don't talk seriously to the police..you only tell them what they want to hear/"need to know". You don't talk to Mark Richt/Les Miles/Nick Saban/Charlie Strong seriously...you only tell them what they want to hear/need to know. But if you actually betray your "people" and "cooperate" with them..."you's a fck n1&&@ and don't ever rep or come back to the crib, pussie n1&&@!!!". It then becomes "cool" to keep this code...a mark of a real *****...and it becomes disdainful to go elsewhere- especially OOS. You only go to other schools if Miami had no more room, you couldn't qualify, or you just were not good enough. In these instances, it is totally understandable and, thus, you still maintain your status in the streets of South Florida.

I guess what I'm saying is that we have to "Re-brand pride"...re-define what it is and what it means to have it. Then and only then can Miami keep studs home- even in the face of the "police" (SEC schools) offering reward money (duffle bags) to turn your back on your "people" (UM and S. FL).

We have huuuuge potential. If Golden can win big this year, it will kick off another dynasty....

Why do you think we're not in the SEC? They know they wouldn't be able to sell recruits from SFLA on playing SEC ball.

It makes most sense for Miami, UF and FSU to be in the same conference. Except for the fact that most of the best SEC players are from Miami and they want them.

No, I wouldn't want all three FL teams in the same conference. Remember when there was a Florida team either winning the championship or playing in it....EVERY YEAR?!?!?!? and what was the sentiment around the country at that time? They absolutely hated us for it..it was along the same lines as the rest of the country's anti-SEC sentiment now. I firmly believe there was a plot to limit the state of Florida's presence in the championship picture...and it all started with dangling the carrot in front of Miami to get them to move to the ACC....

It does not make the most sense if you understand how leagues and schools make money.

Huh?

I guess it's just the fan in me. I want the big 3 to play each other every year.

The bottom line is they don't want us because they want our recruits. If we were in their conference they would lose their main argument to kids to not stay home.

It's all good though as long as we make it back to being a contender every year. The ACC will actually be an easier road to get there. And if that's not going to hurt Louisville and their **** schedule, it won't hurt us.
