I have stated on this board numerous times I want Mario to succeed and I think he needs a legit 4 years to truly be evaluated. Jim Harbaugh got 7 years at Michigan before they became what they are today.
But in text threads with other former alumni (like myself) and on this board people want Mario gone. They want him fired yesterday. And I am asking, who is the alternative? No one seems to have an answer.
Yes, he is a paid in the top 15 HC in the NCAAF at a little over $8mm. Yes. Has he turned in a great talented and roster. Yes. Is he our Ron Zook? Building a great talented roster for the next coach to take to the next level? Perhaps.
Who is that coach? I look around and realistically I dont see anyone that Miami could poach or be excited about. Lane Kiffin? No. Would Urban Meyer leave Fox? No. Ken Dorsey? Why would that be someone to take us to the next level?
