If Golden can't turn it around, no one will.

I said this when he was hired. Has nothing to do with his ability as a coach, simply the fact that, whoever the guy was after Shannon, if they couldn't get it done it might be gone forever. Too many years of irrelevance. Today's recruits have no memory of the Canes ever being anything but a laughing stock. Cant trade on UM history and "all about the U" bull**** anymore. Price to get an elite coach that could turn around is too high. We all know Miami is not going to pay five million a year for a coach. If Golden doesn't turn it around next year then it's over. No A or B list coach will take this job because at this point it's a **** job. Firing Golden and bringing in someone else on the cheap won't fix a thing.

Yeah tell Pete Carroll that after all the coaches USC went through over a 20 year period. Tell Bob Stoops that after OU stunk for 10 years. Even Bama, between Stallings and Saban. Get a coach in here that can coach and you'll have good results. It's not like we are in the SEC and are taking it on the chin every week. The 9 games we won were pretty much gimmies.

OP just pretty much got owned...we have too much talent down here to fade into oblivion...

I domt want al fired...but he needs soul searching for his assistants..

We all know the D is horrible at every phase

But the 3rd down conversion was at the bottom again this year as well....

I really feel better QB play and let Bush settle in at SS....this team makes huge strides

Every big time program in the country will always will be a great hire away from being competitive. Miami is no different. The only question is, are the powers that be interested in winning.

And do they have the ability and knowledge to find them right coach? They're seemingly 0-2 so far.

All it takes is ONE great season to energize locals and the fan base. I get your cynicism but you're wrong.

0-3 if you ask me. Don't know if they ever will, but we are a good coach away from being good again. Just gotta make an intelligent creative hire. If top tier programs and even bottom tiers like a Baylor or TCU or Boise State then Miami can too. The dedication has to be there though.

Nonsense. Spend some money, bring in a coach who knows what they are doing and things will change.

And people who know very little about football need to stay out of the hiring process and giving advice like pro style only. Find the best available and cut the check

A really good coach doesn't "COST" a university a dime.

He earns his own keep and lots more.

Dumbass administrators never took Economics 101.

Starting to believe the conspiracy theorist around here who argue the admin doesn't care about winning MNCs; that they just want to field a competitive football team that doesn't embarrass the university by getting in trouble on or off the football field.

The same admin who could have laid down to the NCAA took the penalties. Let golden walk, hirer some coach for 500k blame sanction and still collect ACC tv money. Come on man, they are committed winning. It's not about how much money you spend it's about how you spend it. They offered Gruden the job obviously they were willing to pay for the right name. Our roster is why no one wanted the job. If golden gets canned after two top 5 classes they'll be plenty of coaches waiting to win fast.

An intelligent, competent QB will change this program over night. Steven Morris was awful. Awful. We played offense using about 20% of the available space on a football field because our QB was incapable of attacking the rest.

A good QB will sustain drives, make the OL, his receivers and the defense look better. A real QB improves this team considerably. Tweaking the rest improves it by that much more.

Williams will be a critical transition to Kaaya, Rosier, or Olsen. One of the young guys will probably be starting by the end of the next season - depending on Williams performance or an injury.

More melodrama. Every major program in the country has had longer down periods than we are currently in and rebounded to win NCs with the right HC.
