If D'Nofrio leaves, who do you think we hire for job?

He was vomitus at Texas with better talent. No thanks.

You can say "he was incredible at Ole Miss with lesser talent." Reality is that he was too inflexible with the fire zone blitzes against the type of offenses he faced. His style fits our talent very well.

You could say that, but I don't remember him being "incredible" at Mississippi State.

Yeah he wasn't incredible there. They were 48th in total D in 2010. The 3 years prior they were 58th, 34th, 22nd. Midd Tenn St was between 50-80 his last 3 years there.

I'm not a huge Diaz fan.

Did you see the stats/contrast I posted?

What is it that you don't like about him? I know some have issues with fire zone as a concept and that's fair, but is there something you specifically do not like? I'd be interested in discussing it. I know there are others who don't like him either.

He sucks, Texas fans want him gone. Why would we want him? its not like he lacks talent at Texas.Tell me something that texas lacks that we have, please don't say Florida speed. Texas has as many fast kids.

Yeah. I'm not interested in some dude who took Texas's super talent and led them to a defensive ranking in the 70s. They went from 11th in total D in 2011 to 76th this year and from 33rd in scoring in 2011 to 72nd this year. Not exactly anything to get excited about, as everyone's main beef with Duh' this year was the statistical abortion.

Texas fans are notorious idiots. Their "supertalent" is vastly overrated. They have a system in place that selects kids primarily when they're "superstar" sophomores and juniors and lock them in. Hey, what about those players who evolve, grow and mature between the ripe old ages of 16-18? Yeah, not interested because we "must lock them in early."

Manny Diaz may suck - the interest he'll receive in the open market may show otherwise, again - but nothing you guys have stated is that convincing:

(1) Their fans say he sucks (here's an article attacking their own fans: http://www.burntorangenation.com/20...orns-football-2012-manny-diaz-tackling-issues)
(2) They dropped in statistical rankings (he coached them to that #11 overall D ranking in 2011, by the way)

The best argument some of you would have is that his system isn't a great fit and he's been too inflexible in altering it. But, I haven't read anything along those lines. I'm interested, though. If any of you have some substantive or technical reasons why his system would be a bad fit for our players/talent, I'm here to learn.

This is why I don't disagree with the staff taking their time on guys like Quincy Wilson
