Why not hire Kirby Smart to run the program. Miami will have a physical offense and a physical defense that is the recipe for miami to get back winning titles.

Smart is waiting for a real, professionally-run program to have an opening. He's not coming to Miami. This program is managed by amateurs.

kirby Smart is a solid choice but why not bring in Ed Orgeron as defensive coordinator and butch davis as head coach

What is the difference between Smart and Muschamp? A lot of guys would look good coaching Alabama's defense. Still gets scorched from time to time, too (see Texas A&M putting up 600+ yards on him this year). Overrated IMO. I would actually be rooting for him to get FSU if Jimbo goes to Texas (instead of them getting Strong or Franklin).

why do people want butch he left his program for a better job remember schiano turn down the miami job then they hired al golden

golden is one guy who always called this a destination job, he wanted to be our bobby bowden. instead everyone wants the stepping stone guys.

Kirby Smart has been the DC for Alabama since 2009 he has three national championship rings.

defense wins championships

Miami fans would love to have Florida defense. Unlike florida the hurricanes team is setup for a pros style offense

Kirby Smart probably makes more at Bama... Largest payroll in the SEC... and they pay their coaches well too!

Have we not learned our lesson about hiring coordinators? Saban was running elite defenses well before Smart was there.

Btw Bama's D is a 3-4 cover three. That's what we run now. It's obviously not a fit for Miami. Anymore brilliant suggestions?

Al ain't going anywhere. the thing about the contract is there is probably a percentage of buyout. He is signed for 2.3 * 6 = 13.8. Now it probably is around a 50/50 buyout, meaning either party wants out, they have to buy it out. Let's say that is half, it would leave just less than 7 million he (or Penn State) would have to pay the U.

No I am not saying that is in his contract, but that is typical in big time head coaching contracts.

people on here really think that we are an attractive gig. You think if AG leaves that we can just get anyone...how did the gruden talk work out. Kirby Smart, Strong or any other major successful coach aint coming here. You think they want to deal with our horrible fan base? We have a top 5 recruiting class yet everyone wants to hang the coaches for losing a player that never was committed to us. Our fans want to get rid of a guy that was the only one who wanted to stand by us with all the NCAA mess. All our fans do is talk **** on an internet board, wont attend the games, and psychologically are stuck in 2000/2001.
