but retains Coach D, would that be acceptable? Let's assume a few assistants are let go. (Kehoe "retires" & Jethro gets the boot) Personally I think the system is more flawed than the coordinator.

no.

anyone who answers anything else go shoot yourself.

D'O has to go. Along with the scheme.

lol if you guys think that the scheme or coordinator is the problem.

Did you not watch the bowl game?

The team quit.

Slowly but surely, Al Golden is establishing the same cult-like following for himself as there was at PSU.

I left the game at the end of the 3rd quarter so I guess I missed that part. From what I saw they were just flat out better. (more talented, better coached & executed flawlessly)

Of course they executed flawlessly. Our guys have no interest in executing.

I'm not saying we didn't help to some degree but from where I was sitting, it looked like the #1 NFL draft prospect was just making plays. More than anything I think Coley (and our lack of depth at the skill position) got exposed.

Coley got exposed? You know that game was the ninth time some team put up over 400 yards on that defense this season. The only teams that didn't were FAU, USF, Savannah State and Wake. Coley got exposed? The O had an awful night. The defense has had an awful season and an awful three years.

Fin, he was talking specifically about the Louisville game so that's why I answered that way. You won't see me deflecting on how terrible this defense is. I just personally believe it's more due to our gap-read than Coach D's ability to call the right play.

LOL. Every QB made plays against us broski. Jeff Driskell set his career high for passing yards.

Im not giving up on Coley yet...First year calling plays in a while and he had Stevie "Wonder" Morris, the blind QB. He wasn't great by any stretch of the imagination, BUT it is very difficult to call plays when your QB throws to his first read, regardless if its covered or not, 90% of the time. For that, including his recruiting prowess, im willing to give him at least another year before I form an opinion of him.

Dorito on the other hand is a complete fraud and a joke of a coordinator. He sucks at calling plays, sucks at making adjustments, sucks at molding his scheme around what he has to work with, and isn't really much of a recruiter. The only reason he is still around is because he is Gorldens boy. That is the biggest reason I now doubt Gorlden. The fact that he put his friendship above the program when the necessity for change is obvious raises a red flag.

I hear you FSU.. but do you think it's because we have the wrong play called pre-snap? I think it is more of a combination of lack of talent/an outdated scheme more so than an incompetent DC.

I think it's because our guys suck at everything. The coaches don't know how to teach them how to play defense. People are out of position. People miss tackles. People play slow. And the defense got worse as the year went on. It's everything, but most disturbing is that our guys play with no fire and just get rolled over with almost no resistance.

For sure Coley should be given more time.. Heck in the bowl game he was missing his best player in Duke along with Waters & Scott being out.. and half speed Dorsett/Hurns. Not to mention a QB who was ready for his post game snickers.
