I'm not underestimating anyone. I just voiced my opinion. If a kid is "100" on "don't ever question my loyalty to Miami", you wouldn't have threads and rumors about a kid "looking around" or "possible decommitment". Rumors which are 100% started at the hands of said rectuit(s).
Tweed, I hear what you are saying.
But what about the issue that Dee brought up, that even though his nephew chose UM, he still had nearly every single big program contacting him and trying to convince the family that Brian didn't know what he was doing?
And, then, let's imagine that Dee and his family gave the coaches a fair hearing, and said that they would talk to Brian, and then the coaches turned around and leaked to their "friendly" website owners that the coaches felt "confident" that the recruit was still considering their program...
All I'm saying is that the game of "telephone tag" can involve more than just the player himself "starting" the rumors.
And, yes, I do realize that IN THIS CASE some of the recruits are being vague in their use of social media.
I would love it if every one of these kids responded identically to what Lorenzo is doing, and were shutting down every hint of considering any other teams. I just don't think it's going to happen that way. Every kid is different.
And not to get too sociological about it, but some of these kids come from inconsistent support systems in their upbringing, and it may be hard for them to embrace a "shut it down" mentality to committing to a college when there is a season to be played and coaches at almost any school might end up elsewhere in a few months. I wish every kid had the strong support system that, say, Lorenzo seems to have had for a long time, but that isn't always the case with every recruit.
