I am sitting here waiting to fly to San Fransisco and reminiscing about the Paul Dee's Nuts Bowl in 08 and the epic clock debacle at the end of the 4th. Randy and his bottom ***** Lice Harris were on that staff. How does such a meltdown happen...? Isn't there a remedial math exam that is a pre-requisite to that gig? Don't you have to know the definition of a timeout and how it works and what it does?

I put a lot of that loss on Patrick Nix. He was simply incompetent.

Not to rain on your Randy-Tim Harris fest. :)

Yes but anyone that ignorant brands their staff with a do not hire. Is there one former Shannon assistant that has done anything of note... Become a good OC? Become a good DC? Become a Head Coach? There is a reason most of his staff was shown the door... A general lack of intelligence and work ethic which they learned from the man in charge.

Who was it that interviewed that guy and thought head coach material... That guy will be the father of a successful coaching tree one day... I feel like Nancy , why? why? why?

I remember I was one of the few still giving Randy a pass going into the 2010 season. The ohio state game was pretty much the last straw. The writing was on the wall from the very beginning. This guy could not manage a game FOR S.HIT! The clock management was ridiculous. Ahhhh looking back on those days makes me love Golden even more........

Remember the theory that Nix intentionally screwed up the two minute drill?

Randy's best was still that first and goal at the FSU 2 in '08, when after a timeout we get a 12 man penalty (or delay of game, or false start or whatever because he couldn't get the O organized)

I think, that in a few years when we can have better perspective, the Shannon era will be viewed as a more darker and generally 'sad' time for the program than the mid 90's probation era. He was an awful awful head coach.

The Clemson game in '09. Randy's eyes were the size of grapefruits the whole game. One of the all time WOAT game coaching.

Richard Gordon retuning kicks. Scholly offers to Stegall, Adderly, k. robinson, and buxton. Monroe lining up at receiver. Yup, worse than probation.

I get that you're trying to point out Shannon faults, but more than a couple of his assistant coaches are doing pretty good right now including his first DC that everyone hated. Dude has been gone for nearly three years now let that **** go and focus on what we are building now.

The kick to Spiller to end the half was very telling

I would have thought the job interview process would have raised a red flag, the same flag we saw the first and every time he appeared in front of the media once he got the job.
