I see you, Taggart

Let's keep in mind they haven't faced any offense that is even remotely respectable. Michigan States defense was outscoring it's offense through 2 games . Then McNeese state... We shouldn't have any problems

USF is going to be an easier game then FAU.... remember USF lost to them too w/ that great defense. smh

To be fair, USF's defense didn't give up 28 to FAU. FAU scored 2 touchdowns directly on turnovers.

In 3 games, USF has given up 5 defensive touchdowns.

We hung 21 on possibly the best defense in college football (definitely top ten).

FAU hung 6 on us and 13 on ECU. They put 28 on USF

55-9 Canes

This is the sort of game that will tell us a lot about the mindset of our team. We should absolutely beat the **** out of them and win by 35. They're an awful abortion of a team.

However, if we don't match their intensity level, then we will win in lackluster fashion and allow them to hang around for much of the game and give up some cheap scores. This is the sort of stuff that separates Saban from the average or even good corches out there. He gets his team mentally prepared to play every week.

If our team's mindset is right (and the mindset of this program hasn't been right since 2001), then we will see it on Saturday. And if we see it on Saturday, then it's truly going to be a great season because the only team left on our schedule that can play with us if our mindset is right is fsu. And tell me any **** about uva or unc because those teams aren't in our league this year no matter what has happened in the past. If our heads are right we will wipe our asses with teams like that. That's when this program turns the corner for real--when we start tuning up teams that shouldn't be playing with us like unc and uva.

I agree 100%. This is a barometer game. If we are where I think we are, this game will never be in doubt.

Chise, I agree, while UF was a big game, you knew our guys would be amped up. And they certainly were

But what a good/great program does is consistently blow out teams that they should in systematic fashion. Just routinely put up beatings on the likes of USF and the like. Akin to a world-class boxer who will KO lesser foes without any problem because they are real pro's who are focused and dont beat themselves with complacency

This is exactly what Golden talks about when he speaks of 'the process' and going 'brick by brick'

I harken back to the 2002 season post Florida, when Coker's teams were winning but just watching the game, you just knew they weren't executing all that well and really getting into some sloppy habits that you knew would come back to hurt them at some point. Sometimes it's not IF you win( because the talent disparity is so large) but HOW you win.

This week is about 'the how'....

I'm probably one of the few people on earth that saw the games they had against FAU and MSU. The Bulls suck real bad. Their defense is only decent when compared to their ****** offense. FAU hung around us for awhile because their punter is a stud. USF aren't that lucky. Their punter sucks and I predict Coley will run one back for a td against them. First half might be somewhat competitive due to the so called rivalry but in the end the U wins 45-13.

USF coach Willie Taggart on Miami: "I think 'The U' is back. 'The U' is back."

More Taggart on Miami: "They're back ... they're doing the things you have to do to win ballgames."

Your mind games aren't fooling me.
