I said this before and

Wong proved against F$U that he is a defensive liability. Beaten on the dribble drive all second half for easy layups. Omier seemed to be up high for some reason giving Wong no help underneath.

I have no idea why Coach L didn't go to zone after F$U's third straight layup. I wonder if Coach L even has a zone prepared for this squad. If he does have a zone implementation, he screwed up the second half.

The second half of the FSU game will be a blueprint for future opponents. It's up to Coach L to disect the tape and come up with a solution. I hope part of it is going zone from time to time to slow down the dribble drive.
Def agree about the defensive positioning of Wong and Omier on defense. Every time I saw a replay of an FSU sdrive to the rim, Wong was getting embarrassed.

You gotta keep in mind that the basketball season is a long one. Many games to be played. There will be occasional **** ups that will lead to unexpected losses. It happens to all teams. At all levels. Miami has played zone at times this season, so I don't think Coach L just forgot how to coach. Probably, just an instance where he wanted to use this game as a learning experience for his guys. Would not surprise me one bit if all this was, was just a game that Coach L was willing to sacrifice for the long haul. Expect a much better performance out of this team vs Pitt.

I will say it again, the weakness on this team without a doubt is Defense. Yes pack would have mattered and we like likely would have won if he played.

But even if shots aren't falling in the second half of fsu game, if we played better D, we still hang on.

Coach L made no adjustments in 2nd half.

Prior to yesterday, I thought miami had a real chance to sneak in the FF, but now I am not sure.

But clearly we can't underestimate Pack's importance on this team.

Let's win the Pitt game to do our best to get this awful taste out of our mouth from this game.

Good points, yes a PITT WIN will help a short memory.
My concern is we get the play not lose attitude and it’s really ugly to watch .
The announcers were actually mentioning it , sloppy slow passes losing grip of handling BB.

I we don’t have that run it up attitude the ACC tournament will expose what it basically already known .

I’m scared that in a very high pressure game in NCAA against a weak team whom will run like the wind and three we could actually get knocked out very early.
This type of we’re winning big we got this attitude WIIL show it’s face again.

Signed concerned/ scared

There were possessions in the second half where Joseph and Wong would have the ball and they'd let it get ripped away from them with little effort and it went the other way for an easy layup.

This comment abt Coach L almost makes me wish I was reading the abundant "sLurping" instead. (I said "almost")

I get it, but if you've read any of my past comments on Coach L during the losing seasons we had recently you'd know that I'm anything but one of his slurpers. Gotta know when to criticize and when to compliment. GO CANES!!

I promise that L was not willing to sacrifice this game. Ultimately effort is up to the players on the court. L had them ready for the game… but even the best halftime speech can’t make the guys play with effort in the second half of a game they believed was over.

I also don’t think the second half was a schematic failure… defensively Miami was neither helping nor rotating nor closing out effectively. He couldn’t pack the paint with a zone because FSU was also hitting threes.

Also, the bench was shortened with Pack out so the ability to sit guys for lack of effort was limited… I’m not sure more Watson and Walker would have made a difference (also not sure if Casey is still limited)… and Beverly just looked a step slow in the second half.
