I just have one thing to say...

Shanon was a **** of a lot better dc than No Frio...its not even close.

There has to be a change, either co with a co-dc or something or straight on overhaul on that side of the ball....their will be gigs opening up where No Frio can put his hat in.

I Agree Shannon was a really good DC and loved him in that position

Then why don't other teams give him a chance to be a DC?

K9, aren't you a West Coast guy?

I prefer Leavitt, but what are you thoughts on Ken Norton, Jr?

I don't know... it seems.. and sure as **** looks like they are more focused on implementing the system.. rather than doing what it takes to win.

I listen to Al on the radio and he keeps saying the same things over and over. He's been saying for weeks .."we gotta get it fixed".. yet we see no fix.

If he keeps Dorito..its gonna be a miserable off season. Some dude on Qam today was already saying.. that next years depth chart is gonna yield the same results. I like Al..but he needs to CEO more and coach less.

I am a niners fan and I like Leavitt. I have to imagine that other teams have at least inquired about him returning to the game and being a DC. At the very least he would help Barrow with the LBs. If you bring in Leavitt and a new DL coach, I would be pretty happy. I would still keep Paul Williams.

Jim and Tosh for the Win!

My only concern at this point is that it's Golden philosophy so regardless if we get a new DC, it'll be the same ****. Hope I'm wrong.

I remember when people made fun of Shannon's "long walk from the locker room" quote during a duke game that we won. Oh how the times have changed. Shannon was an idiot but he never lost to duke. To soon ?

Bill Miller....

I know a lot has been said already in the post-mortem of the Duke debacle, so there's not much else to say. But I am reminded of what took place in the 1998 season when our defense fell apart late that season and Butch fired Bill Miller as the DC and brought in a bright young assistant by the name of Greg Schiano.

Now, the dynamic here is D'onofrio just happens to be Al Golden's best friend. Will he pull the trigger Ol' Yeller?

Im a Golden guy( yeah, yeah, mock me, I'm a hopeless optimist), but I think if he's got a decision to make with this defensive staff as a whole. If no changes are made, well, then that's on the CEO of this program.

This much is clear, the honeymoon is over....

It worked out badly for Bill Miller. LoL. Nick Saban hired him for the 1999 season and MSU went from #47 in total defense in 1998 to #12 in 1999. MSU went from #55 in scoring defense in 1998 to #22 in 1999. Schiano was somewhat more aggressive, but he got the benefit of a lot of stud underclassmen becoming veterans certainly by 2000.

This is not to be in defense of the current DC.

Did Miller get the benefit of any upperclassmen maturing under Saban like Schiano got at Miami? Let's not forget that Saban left Miller behind when he went to LSU, and Miller eventually got fired with Bobby Williams and wound up bouncing around college football like a Mexican jumping bean for the last 15 years including an illustrious stop at Western Michigan.
