Watching the Buc's game last week I almost fell over when I saw Dave Wannstedt coaching the Buc's special teamers...

Here's the guy who was DC and totally responsible for our dominate defenses under Jimmy Johnson that won National Championships. Here's the guy who went to the Dallas Cowboy's with Johnson as the DC, with the responsiblity to develop a dominating defense that won Super Bowls. Here's the guy who was head coach for the NFL Bears and college coach at Pitt..Here's the guy who drafted by the NFL....Here's the guy who we need to reach out to, to either coach Dorito, become the DC himself..or as they say become the coach in waiting...Here's the guy who is family..Even at his age he still has fire, enthusiam, and as much, and probably more knowledge than anyone in the game who knows how to stop an offense...He's probably waiting his turn in Tampa, with former Cane Schiano looking at a closing door, but someone from the "U" needs to put out the feeler...

Wow, I thought the Stache was out of football. Glad to see he's still out there.

I completely forgot about him, i would like this hire, not sure if he would want to come back to college, then again it is better than being the ******* special teams coordinator

I owuld go try to hire Marquand Manuel. He is a defensive assistant up in Seattle. Now they play some defense up there. Thats the style I want! Or someone from Pittsburg staff. They run a 3-4, they know how to get off the ball and they attack! Or like the bleacher report article, Jim Leavitt. That guy can coach. He doesn't ask you to be tough he tells you to be tough or GTFO!

Im sure there will be many coaches who would be interested in taking the job with the talent we have access to.

Yessir. Posted this in WEZ

Add
DL Kevin Patrick
LB Michael Barrow (he may excel in aggressive scheme)
DB George Barlow from Vandy or Mike Rumph

Wannstedt is a very interesting name, especially if only ST coach with the Bucs. Don't know anything about Manuel in Seattle, but that style defense is exactly what we should aspire to (our WR coach needs to call his dad and see if he has an assistant to spare).
Leavitt would be interesting, but not happening in today's climate of political correctness. Miami probably can't go there.
Gene Chizak is still getting paid off by Auburn, but may be waiting for a HC job.
Typically hires are about past connections and relationships, so two names to file away - both with Penn State ties: Frank Spaziani and Tom Bradley.

Spaz would be great
He is aggressive, and developed more than his share of defenders
Is he working

Give me an Xs and Os guy, please. Even if his decision is to run the simplest scheme possible.

Problem with wannsted is he won't last long. He will get a good offer for an hc position or nfl and be gone

I don't understand. You are the one consistently berating our coaches for their lack of sophistication and now you are asking for the simplest defense possible?

We run a a very simple scheme. There is nothing remotely complicated about what we do. We just don't have the athletes to execute.

Lu...let me ask you something. Watch the 1st and 2nd quarter of the Duke game and breakdown the defensive series. It will change your opinion. Anyone who hasn't done this cant make a informed opinion about the problems on defense. I have watched almost every game except for VT (DVR didnt record) and you will find the same problems.

You're a weird guy following me around this board, yet you didn't answer when I answered you directly the last couple times. You cursed at me like an emotional woman and I answered anyway. I think you have things a little confused. I don't answer to you. I hate to break it to you, but no one answers to anyone on this board, the very least someone like you who doesn't seem to offer anything but antagonism.

I'm going to explain this one last time in an effort to be reasonable.

Simple doesn't equate to passive. Do you understand that? Simple can be aggressive. I berate them for lack of sophistication? Show me where and what you've interpreted. If you can, I'll address it. If you can't, I'll take it as an admission that you're talking out of your ***.

I mainly talk about how they've consciously made a decision to play this style. I've also outlined scenarios for decision-making because it's entertaining to me. I don't berate anyone. I talk about football. I try to mention substantive issues. To me, that's what I like to use the message board for. Those are the discussions I prefer. If you don't like them, allow me to explain that I don't care.

I watched the games. I've watched almost every snap of our games and our opponent's (the non-HS ones) games this year. SB…let me ask you something. Offer something of substance. Break down the games, plays or throw us some videos, pictures or something. Then we can discuss. Look forward to it.

Chizik will never be a head coach again. His last year at Auburn was an abomination. His Program was runned like a country club.
