QBR of 16.7% in the bowl game must be some sort of bowl record. A LOT of bowl games were played with either the #2 QB and even in one case, where #1 and #2 opted out, a WR was playing QB ... and succeeded to a much higher degree than EW. Gutsy kid, not a top level potential D1 QB. No way he is the starting QB for Miami against ND in September .... 0 chance.

I know this is a message board but what is the point of another thread just to criticize a young man who may not have enough physical talent to play QB at this level?
Is it to be funny or clever? It’s been done
For OP to feel better about him or herself by being critical of another? Go see your therapist.

We don’t need repetitive threads that are only meant to degrade someone who is working harder for UM than any of us. Give yourselves another couple hours to post because after that this thread will be shut down.

I had hope with what I saw against FSU and Clemson last season, needed work for sure, but had hope.

The bowl game was not impressive.

What gets me is how they didn't even attempt to run anything that resembled our O when he was in there. For crying out loud, at least TRY to run the same O. They did against Ball State when he came in, and he made the throws down field. They put Williams in against any other team and they bubble wrap him to the point of making him look ridiculous.

I'm not saying he's the answer, at all, but he's better than what they make him look. They practically kneecap him and the O when he's in there.

Now if this is as good as he can be, that's an even bigger indictment of the staff. THIS is the best #2 QB you can give us? Year after year I see true freshmen QBs light it up. Us? Oh **** no.

It was probably to mock the “don’t be critical of our new CB he may be the next DJ Ivey”ridiculous take.

I've said since last year, he looks alright, but needs to improve, and we dont know what we've got yet. Nothing has changed my opinion, not his stint in the bowl game either.

It's a shame we were in a boat race every single game this year and he couldn't get live game experience to do so.

People here are so reactionary and that bowl appearance told us nothing. If he's who we end up having to play, so be it. He won't succeed or fail based on effort. People need to give it a rest.
