I'm still not giving you rep for bad news.
It does seem odd that they would flag his grades less than a week before signing day.
also, if it's grades what happened in the last 24-48 hours that made them yank the offer
Even if it's grades why pull the offer? Let him commit, when he doesn't qualify send him to prep and let him enroll for next spring.
Just doesn't make sens.e

admissions went through his transcript? Test scores didn't come in? Replacement course got flagged at the last minute? Lots of possible answers

This stuff happens. Reminds me of when we were hot after a Maryland WR named Leslie Shepherd. I actually watched him play in the Big 33 game between PA and MD. He looked like a young Paul Warfield. His father was there in the stands all dressed in UM gear. I heard near the end we didn't take him because, the reports went, he never produced the grades or test scores we insisted we needed. He ended up at Temple, and was an average WR for the Redskins, but not the guy I saw up at Hershey that night in '88. From the reports I received at the time, JJ and Shepherd's father had a heated discussion over the fact we dropped Shepherd. I guarantee you we wanted him--and his HS teammate (Rico Marshall) who signed with South Carolina and OD'd just a few weeks later. They showed Rico's bedroom on the local news after he died and his bed was neatly made, with two jerseys spead out on it, SC and Miami. And his coach was interviewed--and he was wearing a Miami cap.
If it's grades why is Ice lying in the paper saying we pulled his offer bogus?
AL is making room for a bigger FISH.......

Leslie Shephard, I remember him being listed as a UM commit in a few pre-season mags. Never knew the back-story of how he ended up in 'Bolivian
BTW, as for Ice, a high school coach isn't throwing his own player under the bus and making his program look bad in any form....
You guys need to calm down & understand something.
