Even if it's grades why pull the offer? Let him commit, when he doesn't qualify send him to prep and let him enroll for next spring.

Just doesn't make sens.e

Maybe we told him prep and he said **** no

also, if it's grades what happened in the last 24-48 hours that made them yank the offer

admissions went through his transcript? Test scores didn't come in? Replacement course got flagged at the last minute? Lots of possible answers

This stuff happens. Reminds me of when we were hot after a Maryland WR named Leslie Shepherd. I actually watched him play in the Big 33 game between PA and MD. He looked like a young Paul Warfield. His father was there in the stands all dressed in UM gear. I heard near the end we didn't take him because, the reports went, he never produced the grades or test scores we insisted we needed. He ended up at Temple, and was an average WR for the Redskins, but not the guy I saw up at Hershey that night in '88. From the reports I received at the time, JJ and Shepherd's father had a heated discussion over the fact we dropped Shepherd. I guarantee you we wanted him--and his HS teammate (Rico Marshall) who signed with South Carolina and OD'd just a few weeks later. They showed Rico's bedroom on the local news after he died and his bed was neatly made, with two jerseys spead out on it, SC and Miami. And his coach was interviewed--and he was wearing a Miami cap.

Wait....I thought some idiot was on here just a few weeks ago insisting that UM didn't have different academic requirements, that if a kid could get into... Say...Old Miss, then why in the fck are we having this conversation?!?!?

Leslie Shephard, I remember him being listed as a UM commit in a few pre-season mags. Never knew the back-story of how he ended up in 'Bolivian

BTW, as for Ice, a high school coach isn't throwing his own player under the bus and making his program look bad in any form....

If it's grades why is Ice lying in the paper saying we pulled his offer bogus?

Becasue I've heard plenty of people say it on this board. When Miami is winning the Herald is with us. All other times they're looking to bash.

Good S*** Pete. The update had people going crazy so this was a good letdown for those "on the cliff"

then again, not really

if the last few weeks are any indication...by this time next week no one will ven give a sh*t because once Al and the boys have a chance to tell their side to the public it will be fine...in the mean time we don't need to worry because Golden can speak privately with recruits who might have concerns.

not gonna lie...I panicked like the rest of you when I started reading about kirkland...but are we REALLY going to question Al, Crystal-Ball, and Coley? The day Ice Harris becomes the voice of reason...the world will end about 5 minutes later...last I checked we are all still here...just sayin.

This is the ultimate Troll job by the coaching staff, ice and kirkland. They where all tired of all the press Bryant was getting about trolling so they took the focus off of him for a little. Kirkland puts a UM hat on NSD.

Agreed K9. I see now this was a numbers issue.
