I am truly excited and hopeful for this season

I drink the orange and green flavored Kool-Aid every year and hope that the team will be good. I can't wait for the season to start.

While it's a far stretch for National Championship or playoff talk, I think this year can be special. One of those years that we'll point to as the team that turned things around.

That being said, those with the "I'll get behind the team when they show me something" attitude...isn't this the kind of mindset that gets Miami fans the bandwagon reputation?

I'm very excited. The thing the mopes fail to see is that we are in 10 times better shape as a program then we were 4 years ago. Even if golden isn't the guy to get us back on top he is stacking the deck for the next guy.

Very true. Remember when Highsmith was the only free safety on the roster?

Any game Duke is in is winnable. Dude is still under rated by this fanbase.

Please provide some proof this fanbase underrates Duke.

People still want to act like they weren't trashing him during the gameday threads, thats fine. Unfortunately for the majority of clowns that toil around here I have an Eidetic memory when it comes to *****assness. It's over though now. I expect Duke to explode this season.

As long as he doesn't explode his head during another block. Just sayin'. I love watching Duke play as a Cane, and want him to have a great season and NFL career. Just ****...

Our safety depth is amazing compared to what he had when he got here.

Concerning the bolded part. Absolutely. But there is a line between the bandwagon/fairweather and just being pragmatic. Not having blind enthusiasm (not pointing fingers at QP or anyone else) doesn't automatically equate to mopery or fairweather.

I..will wear my colors, fly my flags, fire up the grill, and watch every game...but if someone were to ask me today how I thought our season would be I would answer with a: :noidea:

I hear ya there. He was just too small for his own good. I mean look at that run he had in his first game. The one where he gave his life up for that first down. It was incredible, but also ******* scary. If he really is hovering around 210 pounds, he should be a totally different animal, and he is the fastest he has ever been. He plays with such a kamikaze style, it was inevitable him getting hurt, though the ankle was a freak thing.

There was this kid I grew up with; he was younger than me. Sorta looked up to me, you know. We watched our first Canes practices together, worked our way out of the bleachers and standing on the hurdles next to the track. Things were good, we made the most of it. During the Coker era, we ran through any available spot around campus trying to get a glimpse… had a great time, too. As much as anyone, I loved him and trusted him. Later on he had an idea to build a website for people fleeing oppression of other Canes sites. That kid's name was Dinero, and the site he created was CanesInSight. It was supposed to be about freakishly loving the Miami Hurricanes. This was a great man, a man of vision and guts. And there isn't even a plaque, or a signpost or a statue of him around the Hecht! Someone from the WestEndZone put a bullet through his eye. No one knows who gave the order. When I heard it, I wasn't angry; I knew Dinero, I knew he was head-strong, talking loud, saying stupid things. So when he turned up dead, I let it go.

And I said to myself, this is the HOBBY we've chosen; I didn't ask who gave the order, because it had nothing to do with the spirit of being excited going into a ******* football season!

Solid post.

/what a great movie. Wish they would have made a third one.

Excited? Yes. The offense will be very fun to watch.

Hopeful? Not really. I see no reason why the defense will improve.
