Losing 29-0 to Arizona in the Fiesta Bowl was a complete downer. Worst bowl game performance in Canes history, IMO.
That was the result of a checked out team and some internal strife, if I recall correctly from the Canes Rising book. A LOT of warning signs emerged that year about the crumbling of the original Canes empire - a decisive loss to FSU, losing to West Virginia, then the bowl game.

Hmmmm…..close, and I get what you’re saying.

Alabama 34, Miami 13 is down there too.
Yes, it is. The Peach Bowl blowout loss to LSU 40-3 when we scored first was total domination by LSU, but it didn't have NC implications, so I went with Tennessee. Unfortunately, we have a plethora of choices for this award IMO

Yea… I’m surprised half back pass in the snow, didn’t make the list. 🤣😂🤣

As far as plays go, that would be top 3 if not #1. Who thought that was a good idea?
Bruh, I was so drunk thinking about what had become of my beloved hurricane program by that point in the game, all I could do was laugh out loud for about 10 minutes straight. My girlfriend (wife) thought I had lost my fuccin mind.

I forgot about the 40-3 loss to LSU. Maybe my new choice for number one. The game marked the end of an era and I don’t think the program ever recovered.

Mario does have the team on the right track.

Was stationed at Montgomery AL at the time, so my wife and I took our neighbor to the game (he was a die-hard Bama fan) and what an embarrassment. We kicked that early field goal and then total domination by LSU. The few Cane fans left were booing Larry Coker mercilessly and he deserved it. That drive home sucked lol
