"Miami is off to a strong start with their 2014 class. They reeled in a top 75 prospect on Wednesday.

Adonys Henriquez opted to make an early pledge.

A 2014 prospect out of Orlando (Fla.) Christian Prep, committed to Jim Larranaga and his staff at Miami on Wednesday, just a day after visiting for their game against Central Florida, a source says.

Henriqez entertained interest from a host of schools including UCF, Florida State, Alabama, Clemson and Missouri.

A four-star guard, Henriquez is a scorer. At 6-foot-5 he's not only a good shooter out to the three-point line, but he's also very capable of getting points from mid-range.

Henriquez is ranked as the No. 13 shooting guard and the No. 58 overall prospects in the 2014 class.

Henriquez is Miami's first pledge in the 2014 class. "

One has to wonder if Coach L can actually start to turn the basketball program into something. Tough to see past this year, but with all of the recent successes we have had, is this a 1 year fluke or are we starting to make something out of our basketball program?

I know Miami has always been a football first, than if there is any time left, more football, but it seems like Coach L has done some great things in his short tenure.
Why can't we? It only takes a couple of players, Miami is such an easy place to sell. The ACC is going to be the Big East of basketball in the next coming years. Our freshmen dorms are literally like a 300ft walk to the BUC.

Can Miami really actually start to make some noise in the basketball scene in the future? And how long can Coach L stay doing his job at the high level he is, given he is already 63.

I think Coach L's true coaching prowess will shine through next year. This is the year to make some serious noise until Coach L can get some more his recruits in here. Next year will be a transition period but I think we will be okay.

Long term, anything is possible but I dont think we will ever be a "powerhouse". Hamilton had a chance to do some good things here and he left. Just like football, it seems like this place is a stepping stone. I think Coach L will retire.
