How much has losing Damari Brown hurt?

Zero
Between the poor management of poor coverage and skill sets
And the honest disgrace of the worst secondary we've ever seen
This is not a single player or system change solution

My only opinion
Zone and send 5. Over the center blitz or off flat "cb surprise" blitz
Qbs are soooooo comfortable and soft, mam, bump is honesty atrocious

I think we’ve seen with Rivers and Bain how much losing them affected their position group and the difference they make. Can the same be said for Brown?

Not sure we’d have the horses even with him to be decent, but just think his injury has played a big role in others playing who wouldn’t have played as much or in as important positions at CB

Or am I totally off base
It’s hurt a lot, he’s our best DB and it’s not even close. When we get him back, our secondary will take a big leap forward.

I mean, it’d help because it’d mean less 25 and/or 19 on the field, but eh..
Hill has turned out to be a huge liability. Richard is better but neither he or Porter can tackle worth a ****. Horrible pursuit angles, overrunning play after play…and zero safety help over the top. Priority 1 in the portal next year.

Priority 1 in the portal next year.

#1 priority is getting another top QB. Let’s not turn into FSU post- Travis. A great QB can make up for a lot of deficiencies. There after Ward wins the Heisman, we will get another top QB who will compete for the Heisman. I put DB as the #2 priority.

Kinda speaks to how we still ain’t there yet, and recruiting can still hit another level lol.
And how a few transfers can make a monumental difference.

Was watching TCU vs Oregon State & backup xfer CB for OrSt from some ****hole was playing due to four injuries. Out there in man D, covering well, making excellent option reads & open field tackles.

Meesh has been OK, far and away our best safety.

Some jagoff from Minnesota or Purdue with sound fundamentals could go a long way depth wise.

7 ain't it, 15 is suss.

For all so 'certain' D'mari Brown would be a difference maker if in the lineup..

brad pitt ok GIF

To quote Moneyball, "you don't know; you say you know, but you don't."

*hope he would, recruiting stars indicate he may..but we don't know.

Is there any chance Brown returns for wake or even the ACC title game assuming we make it? His injury must have been pretty significant. This has been very unfortunate given how bad our D has been including our secondary.
Keep hearing “regular season” whether it’s wake or Cuse. D$ has said it and someone on staff has said it. Think Mario even said that in a press conference

Damari Brown’s impact is the last hope of salvaging the defense. If plugging him in solves nickel, pushes Porter to the boundary again, and helps the communication issues and provides someone that can make open field tackles… it could help.

Not saying it will turn it into a strong defense but possibly solidifies it.. not likely but that’s the last straw to grasp going into game 11.

If our D can just be even average, it allows so much more opportunities for Cam Ward and the O to do their thing. How it stands now, it will be even difficult to win the acc and make the playoff. Thanks for the update.

Damari won't make the secondary great all of a sudden but it will help since he plays nickel where we constantly get abused. Hoping he's ready for Wake even if it's just limited reps and then truly full go for the finale at Cuse.

I think Bain injury hurt his conditioning. And Guidry been doing him 0 favors without using him inside a bit more.
Yeah missing a ton of game action and then being tossed back in to a defense that has no ******* clue what it’s trying to do is not a recipe for success

He may return for either Wake or the ACC-CG. He had surgery, and is now out of the boot and dressing for games.

Demari was playing very well in UF game. It was a shame he got hurt. Sticky coverage, and physical in run game.

UF tried to run an end around attacking our edge, and he blew it up.
