How many Stars do the Starters Have

The problem is that as soon as a kid gets that fifth star, the bagman cometh. We might snag one every once in a while who grew up with mad love for the Canes, but generally a four star who was leaning Canes starts leaning towards the bank once star #5 gets added.

I think you can win a championship with a team made up of all 4 stars even if no 5 stars because you also have to factor in that players can underperform or overperform (a five star can't really "overperform" his star rating, he can either meet expectations or underperform since he is expected to be absolutely elite from day 1). Talent evaluation still plays a big part, so coaches with an excellent eye for talent can load up on four stars who they expect to overperform and are mentally tough. Contrast that with FSU's mentally soft team last year that had more five stars than Clemson, that folded at the first sign of adversity.

So if Miami misses out on a 5 star OT but lands two 4 star OTs, it's still a win for me because you've doubled your chances of finding a kid who will overperform.

My main area of concern are the elite tackles on both sides of the ball. I hope the IPF can entice these huge players.

Only have 2 Willis and Lorenzo Lingard
Burns, pre injury, Nesta was #2 only reason he didn't make 5 🌟 is because he was 6'2 and a Miami commit same for Brevin Jordan #2 tightend not a 5 🌟 because of size and being a UM commit, and a lot of our guy's we're 4 🌟 depending on what site you read so I'll take it, if one site says 4 🌟 and the rest say 3 I going with 4 🌟😂🙌

Forget about who balled out as 5 star and who didn't. You will go back and forth all day on that by name dropping to make your point.

It really is simple--Recruit a bunch of 4/5 star kids and your chance of winning a championship go way way up. Is it a guarantee you will win? No. Does it help immensely? Yeah !

Richt is doing that for us.

This is a fcking fact. People can go on all day about how every single 5* doesn't pan out and every single team over 50% bluechip doesn't win a NC, but that's not the point.

If you land 50%+ 4/5* kids, your chances at a NC skyrocket. There will be aberrations, but your chances are greater.

No argument.

Size isn't everything, but it is important and the higher up the rankings you go the more important it becomes.

A 5'6" DB may have the best speed and coverage skills ever, but it's too easy to exploit his size. He's not a 5*, and probably not a 4* either. You don't get to cherry pick attributes, a 5* has them all.

I totally agree but you know like I know had these guys been committed to any other blue blood they wouldn't just parade all Americans but 5 🌟 on Rivals, 24/7 and ESPN

Just my opinion, any prospect who finishes the cycle rated #2 at their position outside or kicker, punter, fullback is a 5 🌟 talent.

I didn't touch that part of it, because I mostly agree. I think we over blow it a bit, but no doubt there's some bias in favor of bama and some other schools.

The conspiracy against our commits and the Bags stuff is way over blown an i really don't get into that.

I don't think much of espn's rankings, but I do agree with one thing. They had a description of who gets a 5th star, and it had to do with projecting future performance and all that. What was interesting was that they don't have a set number of 5* a year or anything about the top 1 or 2 guys at a position. Basically, there could be 20 or no 5* kids this cycle. If they aren't projecting the kid as a future NFL starter out of HS he doesn't get a 5th star. I have to say I agree with that...if the best TE this year is a little slow or short or something, he shouldn't get that last * just because he's the best available.

I read this when Clowney was coming out of HS. They gave him the #1 ranking because they thought he was as close to a sure fire NFL talent they'd seen. Nothing to do with his position or how he compared to other kids.

The bag game is very real. Watch "A Football Life" on Eric ****erson...1:30 in and he's already talking about being offered $50k. And that was years ago, it's not hard to imagine that things have escalated. He goes on to talk about being given a car by one school then going to another.

True I agree with not settling with giving away 5 🌟 it should be earned and sometimes there are no 5 🌟

I know it's very real, I just hate every time we seem to be getting out recruited or a kid clearly wants to leave home and get away from parents and have some freedom, or gets slow played or just likes other schools it's Bags.
