Over the years, we have a number of fundamental assumptions when it comes to recruiting. How many of these will Mario eradicate with his relentless recruiting and which one(s) do you think are the hardest?

  1. You can't pull a 4*/5* RB from LA that L$U wants. (Citizen)
  2. You can't pull a 4*/5* DT from LA that L$U wants.
  3. You can't pull a 4*/5* DT from Alabama that the Tide wants.
  4. You can't pull a 4*/5* CB from Alabama that the Tide wants.
  5. You can't pull an elite kid from Lakeland.
  6. Elite CB's from Heritage will always make a business decision
  7. Elite CBs from Broward will always make a business decision (Antione Jackson)
  8. Can't pull an elite recruit from Dwyer. (this solved itself with Jack Daniels leaving and Al Shipman replacing him).
  9. We only get scraps from IMG. Elite IMG recruits only sign with $EC teams (Skinner, Mauigoa, Riley and hopefully more)
  10. Kids don't decommit from Clemson/Dabo and the definitely don't flip to UM if they decommit (Ray Ray)
  11. Elite OTs don't consider Miami (Mauigoa)
  12. Multiple Elite OTs definitely won't commit in the same recruiting class.
  13. Canes can no longer recruit nationally for multiple elite recruits in the same class
  14. Canes can only have highly rated classes if the vast majority of the commits are from SFL.
  15. Once a recruit's page his 250+ pages, they're not coming.
  16. 5* SFL Receivers are mercenaries and will never commit/play for UM.
  17. Follow the visits. No official visit, no commit. (Popo says hello)
  18. Multiple (3x) elite DE/Edges will not commit in the same recruiting cycle.
  19. Multiple elite Lakeland kids can't be pulled in the same cycle
  20. Can't pull a legit 5* recruit from SFL.
  21. Elite DEs from Heritage will always make a business decision
  22. You can't win multiple head to head battles w/Bama and Saban for 4*/5* CBs in the same cycle
  23. You can't win multiple head to head battles w/Bama and Saban for CBs playing in Heritage and Lakeland in the same cycle
  24. You can't win a head to head battle with OSU/Hartline for a 5* WR
  25. You can't win a head to head battle with OSU/Hartline for a SFL 5* WR
  26. You can't pull two 5* WR in the same recruiting cycle
  27. You can't pull two or more 5* DTs in the same cycle
  28. You can't pull two or more 5* DEs in the same cycle
  29. You can't pull three or more 5* DLs in the same cycle
  30. You can't pull a 4*/5* RB from Tuscaloosa that Saban wants
  31. You can't pull five or more 4*/5* DTs in the same cycle
  32. You can't pull a 4*/5* RB from Alabama that the Tide wants.
  33. You can't pull a high 4*/5* OL from the Midwest that ND/Michigan want.
  34. You can't pull a 4*/5* DT from the Deep South that upper tier $EC schools want.
  35. You can't flip a 5* DT from GA commmitted to UGA when they're consistently in contention for a championship.
  36. You can't flip an elite (High 4*/5*) LA-based CB that's already committed to L$U
  37. Miami can never sign a kid from Armwood
  38. Even if Miami signs an Armwood kid, they will be a bust (or at best a JAG)
  39. Miami can't (won't?) pull an elite 5* or 4* kid from TX.
  40. Miami will never sign a recruit (especially a WR recruit) named Tyler Williams, no matter how much a layup it might seem.
  41. High 4*/5* Mater Dei recruits are west coast mercenaries and will never commit/play for UM until we're a powerhouse again.
  42. High 4*/5* Mater Dei recruits will commit to USCw all things being equal and as long as USCw doesn't stink.
  43. If high 4*/5* Mater Dei recruits leave CA they will only leave for an established powerhouse.
Also, if you can think of other recruiting taboos, let me know.

He just pulled a 5 star OT, something we haven’t had in a decade, I’d say that’s worthy.

Does the Dwyer rule still stand now that Daniel's is gone?

Elite IMG kids always end up in the SEC

Heres a legit one. You cant have an elite class if most arent from south florida.

manny pulled a 4* corner from Alabama territory , granted he transferred but still
Bama essentially stopped recruiting Williams aggressively so he started looking elsewhere. Looking back, we now know why. The rule is

"that Bama wants"

so afraid he doesn't qualify.

9. You can't get LuCane to believe you can have two elite OTackle prospects in one recruiting class.

He just pulled a 5 star OT, something we haven’t had in a decade, I’d say that’s worthy.
OP updated! with these two

  • Elite OTs don't consider Miami
  • Multiple Elite OTs definitely won't commit in the same recruiting class.

My thoughts are these will be the three toughest hurdles for Mario and IMHO, all three are almost equally impossible.

  1. You can't pull a 4*/5* DT from LA that L$U wants.
  2. You can't pull a 4*/5* DT from Alabama that the Tide wants.
  3. You can't pull an elite kid from Lakeland.

If Mario pulls runs the table and finished 2 for 2 this year, we'll have the #1 class in the nation. Book it.

I say 2 for 2 because oddly enough, there aren't an elite DTs from LA that we're recruiting this cycle.
