so you saying he cant play nose??? easy transition... The DC wants to start playing more 3 -4 and they are getting guys for that scheme... look at the guys they are getting... Terry, Bond, McCord, Thomas, **** even Cain. Those are 3-4 rush LB and they want bulldogs in the Middle. If you think about it that maybe the reason why the DT's dont want to commit here. they dont want to take on the double teams and not get any stats. IJS

Theoretically, he could, but that would be a waste of his talents. He is at his best breaking through the line and getting upfield while nose tackles just occupy blockers. Also, he's not big enough to be an effective NT IMO.

From what I have heard he is as strong as a moose and can do that... I dont like the 3-4, i love the 4-3... but its not up to you nor I...

We desperately need one of the DT's we brought in last year to start contributing.

We need all of them to contribute asap... Luther will be a SR, Grimble a JR, Pierre a JR, and Porter a SR and that is where our contribution and production should come from. The other guys will be SO and still young in my opinion, they should have even been RS. Hope they take this off season to hit them weights.

I keep hearing this from fans but have never heard the HC or the DC state that. Does anyone have any evidence that the HC and DC want to transition to a 3-4 scheme?

P.S. Some good info in the initial post.

They wont go to a pure 3-4, if you use their temple D as evidence it was hybrid. In other words they would drop the DE back a lot into an essential LB role for a 3-4, keeps Offenses guessing but not a pure set up either way.

#71 needs to be a DT

Actually think he could be good inside, just not sure he can put on more weight.
He can absolutely put on more weight. His dad and grandpa were both big dudes who played in the middle. He can get to 280 easily and be a Matt Walters type DT for us.

I've been saying this since his freshman year.

Kid needs to gain 20-30 more pounds and move inside.

That's where his future is.

Everyone on here was crying when I made a thread earlier in the season with the same subject, but I agree. He has lost so much acceleration and quickness as he's began to bulk up, he looks like he's playing with an anchor strapped to his ***. He needs to keep gaining weight and slide inside. He was the opposite of an explosive end with a great first step and ability to come off the edge.
