How does Pennsylvania suing the NCAA affect our case?

What affects our case more is the lawsuit USC has (or maybe the guy from USC who was involved in the Reggie Bush case) to unseal NCAA documents from their investigation. No more NCAA secrecy and unilateral decisions.

Agreed. Both affect our case but USCw more so.

Agreed. The PA case is all about money.

I agree with this. It might delay things while the NCAA figures out a way to more effectively hide what goes on behind the scenes in their "investigations".

It might only delay things.

My thoughts as well. Seems hard to believe it could be delayed any longer than it's already gone on but this will probably drag out the process.

They are clearly not a well run organization.

That's because they would rather punish their members than reward them.

True. But the NCAA did not even do their own investigation. I do think they should of investigated the program and then dish out the punishment. Dispite the horrible **** that went on at Penn State, I hope they sue the NCAA and win.

I've heard the NCAA is hanging around Sunset Place asking teenagers if they ever saw anyone pay for any UM players' movie popcorn. If the teens don't talk, they're not allowed to watch movies anymore. Anywhere.

I heard they made them watch 3D movies without the glasses.

It effects our case in that punishment cannot hurt innocent third party victims like former, current and future students and athletes, benefactors, boosters, community businesses that derive income from athletics, season ticket holders etc. a monopoly like the NCAA must respect the rights of innocent victims. That's not to say they can't or shouldn't punish players, coaches or administrators who have violated rules.

As a season ticket holder I want my money back if they vacate games as though they didn't exist.

lol

I just wish they'd hurry up and get it over with....it obviously hasn't affected our recruiting the way they had hoped.

Several of you answered regarding a direct connection, I was thinking more of an indirect effect. The NCAA getting questioned and sued may well affect how aggressive they are in handing out new penalties.

The NCAA's sole hope is to argue the Governor has no standing. If they lose that there will most likely be a settlement reducing the penalties as the NCAA doesn't want discovery into how they operate.

If Miami sues they would want to avoid discovery even more so. The Penn State case has great bearing on ours.

There are vested parties in Miami willing to bring very expensive lawsuits against the NCAA. Wouldn't it be interesting to see the testimony of ex-players, Robert Marve, Kyle Wright, the coaches etc. Wouldn't it be nice to see the documentary evidence.

What happens in Pennsylvania has significance to Miami.
