How California’s bill will change recruiting

How could he play them all? there would still only be 11 guys on each side of the ball.

The best thing that could happen to UM would be unlimited roster sizes. Alabama would choke on its own bags. And kids would quickly learn that all that glitters is not gold.

He said Pay them all not play them all. Although Clemson did play 110 players 2 weeks ago.

because we are big city schools. half these ****hole towns down south would fall apart if they ever went hard them.
SMU got a beating because they were from Dallas.
We liberal U now....we stopped caring about football for a long *** time

Only 10 different teams have made the playoffs and only 3 different ones have won it. Bama has made it every year, Clemson 4 of 5. OU 3 of 5. All 3 likely to make it again this year. Tell me how we aren't already in a situation with the same teams making it every year?
You mean, a near sighted focus that sets the table for a near complete implosion of CFB within twenty years, where we go from 126 teams down to perhaps 24? Absolutely. Why should Colorado State spend itself into oblivion when it cannot compete? Why should Washington State go into further debt to finance a rebuild of its stadium? Why should UCLA raise student activity fees 527% to help finance increased recruiting costs...when they cannot hope to win against a school like Alabama whose primary purpose is for football, not education, and will spend hundred of millions of dollars to have the best players and facilities? There is going to be a mammoth contraction in CFB.

Matter of time before kids get paid ‘legally.’ Will level the playing field somewhat although the monies thrown around from SEC, O*U, FSU, Michigan and a few others is mind blowing. I’m sure they will just up the guarantees...

As long as Alabama and Georgia boosters are paying kids and families what they do, this does not matter... Wake up... SEC money talks.
This

Kids love money most people do....if they can get paid off there likeness they will and add the booster money at bama which is long they will still take bamas deal. Too much bread to turn away from

Probably. Although I wonder if they were paid enough, would it really matter to some of them.

On a macro level I think we're headed to a college economic situation akin to that of the Soviet Union. The USSR spent 17.8% of its GDP on defense spending, a staggering figure when compared to other countries. I can imagine a situation where the University of Alabama has an operating budget of $1.3B per year, but $450M of it is spent on college athletics. Or in other words, an unsustainable situation.

I'm not sure this is comparable, as the schools will not have to increase their spending if this passes. It allows the athletes to make $ off their likeness outside of the school

The hillbillies are sunk.... UCLA and USC are 10x richer than those Yahoos. USC and UCLA care too much about their academic reputation to establish a Foundation. Also, the LA Times would love another Pulitzer derived from breaking a story on payments to players.

You make payments legal, and Will Ferrell ALONE is giving USC $3M per annum.

I hope it become legal. If it is now legal to pay, UM is in the same position as they are now, but at least it forces the KKK schools to compete with actual universities!

The city of LA's GDP is $1.1 trillion versus the entire state of Alabama's GDP of $198 billion. This does not even take into consideration the Angelenos living in San Francisco.

These KKK clowns generate 18% of what a single city in California can generate.............
