I'm trying to keep my enthusiasm boner in check, but if Golden can keep finding talent like he is, and develop them, things MIGHT be ok. It may be enough to overcome his shortcomings as a gameday coach.

He's got a lot of freshmen and sophomores that are showing a lot of glimpses of talent.

I'm also starting to see it as well. Even the guys that aren't killing it now will benefit from all the game experience going forward. If we don't get hammered by the dip****s at the NCAA, our future looks good.

From what I see, he can find and discover talent. Scott, Jenkins, EJ, Pierre, McCord etc.

Now the question is, will they make the leap in the next few years? We have not developed talent for 10 years here. However good you are as a freshman, is pretty much your ceiling.

If they can beast it up in the weight room this off season, and use game experience to stop thinking and just start playing, **** will get serious.

I see kids like Howard, Bush, Jenkins, EJ, Perryman, Pierre and McCord gradually making more plays. Being where they're supposed to. It's encouraging. But like 04, the UVA loss still lingers in my mind. Hopefully Golden can get his Butch and Les Miles on, where he is able to stack so much ******* talent that it hides his subpar coaching ability.

How about old guys like Kendall Thompkins having a good final home game. He hasn't played much in 5 years, but stuck around, practiced hard with little reward. He is a really good kid, glad he finished well.

Agree with OP, it was nice seeing the young guys making plays. It was exciting, hopefully more to come.

Not just young guys but think about guys like Jacory, McGee, Davon Johnson, Ben Jones, Streeter etc.

Holy F I forgot Herb Waters. Wasn't too highly recruited, either. Balled out. Golden is finding guys. I want him to be the next Butch **** it!

And you're right JH. They're even getting something from.......... Clive Walford?!

Clive Walford is awful. The guy had a decent game yesterday, mostly due to him being wide open on his two big plays.

We need playmakers at TE and this offense can be scary good.

Defenses will have to start worrying about defending the middle of the field.

Linebackers will have to read the handoff instead of just charging at the RB Everytime Stephen Morris hands off the ball and the perimeter WR will see more one-on-one matchups which they have to win.

I don't think he's awful but I think it shows how effective a good TE can be in this offense, and also shows why we are recruiting TE's like they are going extinct.

Agreed, my only fear is that when we play teams that are as loaded as us.

Clive has played terrible this season and he is the best of the bunch. We need to upgrade the talent at that position.

With that being said, Clive needs to get faster and work on his hands in the off season.

How often are the TEs featured? How sporadially does Fisch call plays for the TEs?

Killa,

There is a reason why we have two TE's commited and are still recruiting a JUCO TE.

Well when you have a TE that is best known for his volleyball setting skills (Clive Walford) your not so inclined to throw them the ball. With that being said, the TEs are out there running routes if Morris doesn't hit them, I can sometimes understand why.

We upgrade the talent, we open up the offense a lot.

I think they definitely will. Golden is not scared to play freshmen, and to be honest what we have at tight end right now is just bad. Not Miami quality.
