it would have been emory or poff. prolly emory. i dont think hes doing what cam has been doing for us with the state of the defense. That depends on who was brought in to play QB.
If the assumption is Emory or Puff start- I’d go 4-3
a big name QB is the diff between a good to below average team and an elite team. Cam is masking a lot of our issues and has carried us so far.Everyone is so infatuated with getting a big name QB. We need to spend big on a defensive backfield. BIG SPEND. on DBs. STOP losing top 5 DBs when we know can offer playing time. I am Cam's biggest fan. But we have running backs that can score on any play. We have to stop the big passing plays.
If we get into the playoffs and have to face an OHIO State, Oregon, or Texas. Even Clemson. We will give up 70 points. As great as Cam is, we wont catch them. We are undefeated and that's all I care about. But there isn't a Cam Ward in next years portal.
We are 7-0. NO ONE at that network I am forced to watch because that's where the games are, had us winning. I am enjoying having the offense score like this. But as for next year? Spend the money on corners and safeties.
Put me on ignore ******.There’s pills you can take to treat your erectile dysfunction
What the heck else is there to discuss? Hmm. Offense: Elite, Defense: Atrocious. Good talk.Who gives a sh it.
We have him and it’s glorious.
Ignoring people is for pussiesPut me on ignore ******.
we are average with a QB who makes the offense elite. he is def the diff between good vs average. we werent stopping Cal (31 points). the biggest mistake was the pick 6. after that, the rest was Cam bc his fourth quarter was elite and emory isnt repeating that.We would not have lost 3 games with Emory at QB. We would not have had the fantastic comebacks, but other than VT and maybe L-Ville, we could just out-talent the other 5 teams we have played thus far. And frankly, Emory would not have made the mistakes Cam made against VT and Cal.
IMO, Cam is the difference between 9-3 and 11-1 or better. But he is not the difference between a good vs mediocre season. We are already good. Cam makes us very good/great.
Our offense is good based on the Oline, WR, RB’s and TE’s.we

Don’t forget Dart, he will be a day 2 pick and may actually go higher than that.I mean, this season has proven two things:
You can't fix your secondary through the portal...you can get a nice player or two, perhaps, but you have to build that room foundationally.
Quarterback is still BY FAR the most important position, and you CAN get it through the portal. There will not be a Cam Ward next year in all likelihood (just very rare to get a player as good AND fun as him), but we have enough evidence now to know that every single year there are elite college QBs available. Ignoring the Caleb Williamses of the world (no-brainers), the following were all perceived (fairly or unfairly) as dented cans:
Burrow
Ward
Nix
Penix
Daniels
Rourke
Mayfield
Travis
****, even dudes like Shough, Cam Rising, Dillon Gabriel, etc...somewhere between very good and elite...prove the point.
Get the QB and you've done a huge amount of work to make yourself competitive.
4-3… maybe 5-2 at best
This is kind of the discussion I had in mind. Cam is a blade that cuts both ways. Could Emory manage us to 10 wins? This defense is *** but team as a whole is not..We would not have lost 3 games with Emory at QB. We would not have had the fantastic comebacks, but other than VT and maybe L-Ville, we could just out-talent the other 5 teams we have played thus far. To hard to say as all circumstances would change. The old adage if you took a left instead of a right, where would you be in life today? Prob not 7-0 though... what is our record today?
Wild to think about one player changing the trajectory of a program. Might have been an ugly season!
