High School State Championship Games

Norland made way too many mistakes with turnovers and penalties-
Berkeley ran the ball the whole game they had like over 250 yards on the ground their two RB’s are D-1 prospects-
Their QB was injured weeks ago they started a freshman who really had no business being in that game he threw a pick 6 which fortunately was called back because of a clip in the back against Norland-

Time of possession was the key Berkeley controlled the ball almost the whole game.
i wasn't at the game, but murmurs around the community are that our offense called the game weirdly, completely unlike our play calling the rest of the season.

Early in the game they tried a trick play Yapoor pitched it to the RB he threw a wobbly duck pass to the WR that was easily picked off if Ennio throws it it’s a touchdown-

Time of possession forced them to to things they don’t normally do-

Berkeley had the ball twice as long it was ridiculous plus 3 turnovers one pick and two fumbles.

Was the Tampa school running some kind of Wing T offense and Norland just couldn't get off the field?

It's not like they had never seen a run-heavy team before.

Question Mark What GIF by Alex Aiono

No they weren’t -Tampa had a freshman QB starting the kid looked like he was 10 years old-

The OL of Berkeley Prep dominated Norlands DL I was shocked -Norlands defense has like 6 D-1 prospects led by Howard the DB.

Thanks bro.

I just don't see how a team beats Lakeland, then Booker T, Central, Columbus (back-to-back-to-back) and finally Central again — but then gets chewed up by a school most HS football fans outside the Tampa area never heard of
🤷‍♂️

Norland apparently has an senior offensive tackle committed to Rutgers. Well the DE for Berkeley (apparently the kid is pro wrestler Titus O'Neil's son) was giving him absolute ****.

Thanks bro.

100-Like you mentioned the schedule Norland played then to lose to that team-
If they played 10 teams I believe Norland would beat them 9 out of 10.
Yapoor is back for one more year but, they will have to rebuild the rest of the team.

They wont be able to ...everything fell completely into place for them to grab alot of Jackson kids and kids from everywhee else they will be formidable again next year though because they will have EJ, Jade Card etc but not sure if the lines will be the same...this was the run for the chip.

I was at the game. Norland absolutely couldn't get out of their own way sometimes. They also were running these long developing plays for no reason when the short passes were working just fine and the speed difference was insane. They should of just ran jet sweeps, screens and some smaller stuff and it would of been a blow out. The offensive play calling was really bad. The turnovers were killer also in the first half and Berkeley Prep had a offense that would wait the entire play clock and shorten the game.

I think he just had a bad game. You could tell the turnovers ****ed that team up and the ball control by Berkeley was impressive. They had a RB who was the best player on the field as well.

i know it happens he kind of tightens up in big games and needs an ear of reason of some 1 he trust in games like that and i dont know who norland has for that on their staff, when i was coaching with him he would lean on me to get my thoughts.

I would of been 1 of the guys to state what was stated above..like take the easy short targets etc

No excuse for Norland or Heritage to lose to those teams IMO.

Heritage I'm actually not surprised by though. They struggle to defend non-traditional offenses/teams.
