Hey why has everyone ignored Mike James?

How can you possibly still think that is his running style? He is actually more of a finesse RB than he is a bruiser. He rarely succeeds when the run calls for him to hit the hole hard and head on. He usually stutter steps before the hole and needs to see then act. That is why he is usually better with counters and things of the sort - it gives him that second sorting it out. He is what he is at this point - a decent RB

Yep. There's a reason Eduardo Clements is the short-yardage back.

Great game for James, though. He had a good game the last time we were up there, this would be as good a week as any to have a signature performance.

Well, For one I thought there were mods over here on scout 2.0. I am a bit disappointed to see all the crap being thrown around in this thread. Its one thing to disagree, it another to drop down to elementary school digs just because you dont agree.

And yeah MJ has always played wherever the coaches needed him and done whatever the coaches have needed him to do. He is a great player to have on any team. He is not a game breaker, he is a grinder who pounds out the tough yards. He does not always succeed but that is where you would categorize his running style. I was actually happy to see him try to avoid some hits this past game and actually make a guy miss. They are both Hurricanes and I will root for them if they are on the field for us. To me thats all that matters.

Has anyone noticed that since the yr Berry made a name for himself by pounding out tough yards, that all of a sudden became the player we needed, then all of a sudden we have three in Berry, James, and EC. But like any team you need a game breaker and the only one of those was Miller and now Duke. This conversation had no right turning into a James vs. Miller thread. There is no comparison, LM's shortcomings as a blocker is probably why he is third on the depth chart for the worst team in the NFL. But he is a superior back to James just on his ability to hit the homerun. James actually does the little things better, but that is a dime a dozen trait.

I would like to see more two back sets that include MJ and Duke on the field, MJ looked great at FB with that one nice pass out of the backfield. And if you keep MJ in he is a MUCH better blocker than Duke. But lets not kid ourselves we dont want Duke blocking, he should have the ball in his hands. As an offense we need all types of players and we need them to all have success at their roles.

Lets go CANES!
