Hey why has everyone ignored Mike James?

The man has a different running style... nothing wrong with that... he gets the hard yards... the yards where you need 3 or 4 and the box is stacked... you can call on mike james... he is a power back... I foration and run him north and south... that's his playing style...
 
The backs played well today, it's the QB and receivers that needed to step up.
 
Kid runs hard, he needs more carries. Replace horizontal passes with mike James runs

Looked like I would expect him to against Bethune. He was kinda over shadowed by Duke though which is why nobody is talking about him. I like James but lets face it most teams in the country have a back like Mike James. Hes a solid player there's just nothing special about his game.

i admire Mike Jame's demeanor , but to be quite honest, clements should get more carries.
Clements seems to have more explosion. again, mike is good, but not great.Regardless, duke is going to steal the show every week.
 
James compliments Duke very well. Which is why we need to be more run oriented. Esp since Morris has failed to show the accuracy necessary to run the offense on the aerial side that Jed Fisch wants to.

How can you possibly still think that is his running style? He is actually more of a finesse RB than he is a bruiser. He rarely succeeds when the run calls for him to hit the hole hard and head on. He usually stutter steps before the hole and needs to see then act. That is why he is usually better with counters and things of the sort - it gives him that second sorting it out. He is what he is at this point - a decent RB

He did have a very good game yesterday though. Just about all of his runs were very solid.

He did run well and has done a nice job so far. When Duke is breaking long plays all over the place its hard to do more when your James and Clements. James is done a very nice job and compliments Duke awesome.
 
James compliments Duke, just as long as Duke gets the majority of the runs. It seems like Miami is learning how to use Duke. The best way to use Duke is to just hand him the ball with a fullback in front.
 
I love MJ, but he just isn't anything more than "solid"

Two games against BC and KSU he was falling down more than Lamar Miller.

No offense but the "he compliments Duke" thing is a little BS. Anyone would compliment Duke well and MJ isn't the banger that he should be by now.

No he doesn't. He usually gets stopped in that situation.

Truth is "Thunder" is the 3rd best short yardage back on the team. It is what it is.

MJ's best moments here are when he was playing FB. He actually looked really good there. I know the single back is what Fisch wants but I would like to see more formations where MJ leads for Duke. I think there's a lot of possibilities there.

Yea he never really got better..maybe it was him being at the FB position that made him look decent..He definitely is faster this year..He has a burst when he hits the open field..He just doesnt have that "it"
