He's not Cortez Kennedy or Warren Sapp but C.Porter...

I will have to curb my enthusiasm...he could chip a nail on Wednesday and be out with an upper extremity for the rest of the season.

It was nice to see the D-Line get noticeably better. I thought Pierre had a real strong game, too. He's a guy whose experience is starting to pay off.

Porter absolutely made an immediate impact. Pierre woke up in the 4th quarter and looked great...would love to see him put a full game like that together. Finally, I don't know if it was to make up for his dad's on-air BS, but Luthor Robinson played a solid game as well.

Porter was a difference maker last night! The guy is massive, moves well and truly did push the Oline back! Something we have not seen all year ....to the contrary we have been pushed back all year! Porter caused the Oline to have to take our Dline seriously and for them to focus on him! This let the rest of the guys have a little bit less attention and thus, gave us a decent rush. Also, lets not forget Robinson ... the guy did play a darn good game!!!

I thought he was held a couple of times that wasn't called as well, he was definitely disruptive when he was in there. He just needs to continue to improve his conditioning so he can play more snaps.

is a solid plugger inside when he's in there and he does make a difference. He does elevate the play of others by his mere presence. Again, I'm not saying he's Jerome Brown or even Damione Lewis, but I think it's clear his loss has been a big blow to this young, smallish D( especially upfront)

I like the progress of Pierre and McCord( who's come on in recent weeks). I can see this coming together( and again, there will be growing pains ,still)

This win was ugly by Alabama standards. By todays UM standards, any win- especially one versus Vatech- is a Mona Lisa

And as they say about winning, it beats the **** out losing

Our defense looked entirely different with Porter and McCord in there. Porter (or a player like him) is what this team desperately needs. The combination of him and Pierre is deadly, even though Pierre looks pedestrian when he doesn't play next to Porter. Same story with Luther Robinson. Porter could have been a star here, IMO, had he not had such **** luck with injuries.

The sack Pierre had was straight nasty, he showed a lot of athleticism at his size and was able to keep from getting a horse collar penalty.

Porter, Pierre, and Luther Robinson are a nice DT trio. Not spectacular, but solid and improving..

He tired on as the game progressed. He was driving OL back early on but wasn't doing so later in the game. If this kid could stay healthy and improve his conditioning, he could really help an otherwise thin group.

I'm with 1985 on this. The dude's reputation has taken on mythical proportions. The guy is a nice player but has been a non factor most of his career here.

The question isn't "Is Curtis Porter the next Vince Wilfork?"

The question is "Is Curtis Porter better than Darius Smith and Corey King?"

Anyone with some football IQ would say yes to the second question.

That's fine, but people are acting like he's the next Cortez, The DL is still going to suck with him there.

:ohlord::ohlord::ohlord:

Lmao @ Porter not being a JAG.

Guy has played in 11 games. Grimble has played in more games than broke **** Porter.

He played well last night, and so did the DL. Unlike others, I'll admit it when I'm wrong. Still don't think he's the next great DL, but I'm happy to be wrong.
