If you watch Miller's and Coburn's highlights without knowing who was who, you would say Miller's HUDL is better (and 4x as long). This kid is legit, has a scary fast first step for someone of his mass. And he has great field vision, always seeking the ball. Still lacks optimal strength, which Felder should fix. Not as flexible as Coburn, not sure that is fixable. But in a downhill scheme, he's the guy you want at nose. Will wreak havoc inside.

I wouldn't go that far...Again there's a lot to like about Miller, but Coburn looked better on tape imo

I'm not sure I believe the Alabama thing...Sometimes I wish Kuligowski and Diaz would just stop talking

Glad to have Miller though.
Ivins mentioned Alabama was in contact with him around that time 2 weeks ago.

Regardless he got offered by will muschamp at South Carolina, and jermey Pruitt at Tennessee in addition to Miami

Yes I know the story Brock...I followed it the whole time. It is the Bama offer specifically I don't believe...And I don't know why Kul would spout off about it and d**k ride Bama anyway.

Crazy we go a commit from this kid in 3 days. And if we had not seen his film before UT and SC he would likely have gone somewhere else. Good work by the staff.

Because he's being defensive about his DL recruiting. He knows he should have gotten one or two more guys.

That said, I'm very happy with Miller. I think this guy and Silvera will be beasts at DT. We just needed greater numbers, especially at DE.

Coburn might be the better player now but Miller has the higher ceiling. If he stays focused and develops himself he can be a 1st rounder.

agree at least equal plus miller taller

Kul had 4 1st round picks in 15 years. That is pretty good. Remember when we had a dline coach who had 3 on the same team and one was first pick in draft? Jerome, rip, Tez and Russel, any doubt about Butch being best recruiter and best dline coach ever?

That said, Kul might have two in this class. Jade and Miller fit the profile of those three. Anyone remember who the cornerbacks where on the that team? I can’t for the life of me. I’m ****ed and about the AH smucks, but I love this class. Old school DTs, multiple QBs, and a Blades. That is the stuff NCs are made of. Oh, those two TEs sure help. This is the class that might restore the motto, “or get beat by those who do”.

Butch probably had less to do with Russ Maryland's recruitment than Hubbard Alexander who had responsibility for Chicago. Bob Karmelowicz may have spent more time coaching Russ and Tez than Butch. Tez only played under Butch one year and Karmelowicz had him for second and final year. Karmelowicz might have have had as many, if not more years, coaching Russell. Jerome Brown was gone before Karmelowicz arrived. He was not recruited by Butch. He was recruited by Schnellenberger. The DL coach I'm pretty sure was Harold Allen. So, Coach Allen was Jerome's first position coach at UM.

Actually, one of the best technical DL coaches at the U was probably Orgeron.

The CBs on the 89 team were Kenny Berry and Ryan McNeil. The safeties were Hurlie Brown and Charles Pharms.

I again bow to your old knowledge. Wasn’t Butch Jimmy’s recruiting coordinator?

I know where you stand, just stating my own opinion. I see Coburn as having plus flexibility, but mostly relying on out muscling his HS opponents, and I think he is missing some key ingredients to become elite. But that 1st step of Miller's is special, and with some S&C and Kul coaching, I think he could become elite.

Hard to imagine a kid with his size and first step just going unnoticed in this day and age.

He changed schools for his senior year and didnt go to any camps. More than likely a case of the early signing period working in his favor. Less kids to focus on and having to find new targets to replace losses that signed already.

When he was first offered people started crying about his two star status. As soon as they saw his videos, everything changed. That's a massive dude looking like he's shot out of a cannon. Ever wonder how Sapp and Wilfork would look on the field together? Watch Nesta and Miller the next three years and you'll have an idea. It's going to be fun to watch.

Our DBs are going to absolutely feast.

Sign that things are changing. Ok so alabaga got Surtain because his dad delivered him there. Consider that 2 years ago alabaga would have gotten Pope, Gurvan Hall and Frierson. I think baga finished 6th and we 7th or so in the final recruiting rankings. With the Texas, LSU, Tenn, Georgia and Florida teams keeping more guys home it will affect alabaga. Lastly we beat them out for Jordan Miller. Ivey and Frierson both have equal potential to Campbell and Surtain so we'll be fine especially if we can secure Stevenson, Sanguinetti, Richards and Davis etc for 2019.
